HI there

Our stock is now all PVA based panels as the manufacturer is making sure thats what we get as they don't want to upset our customers and as such our stock is PVA. We've also spot checked our stock ourselves too and they have all been PVA panels. :)

I am still using one on my desk which gets heavy use and its still functioning fine and is very impressive.

Gibbo, do you know if these guys (DGM) plan on making a cheap 30" monitor like this 24" one?

Would be great if they could do the same again but with a much bigger monitor. :)

Hi there

There is no buzzing coming from the one I am using or buzzing from others in the company. I'd imagine if one buzzes it must be a fault or poor power connection.

As with anything, well you sell greater numbers you will hear bad things because people will tend to post about problems more so than posting when something works as it should.

If we only sold 50-100pc a week of this monitor then all would be quiet but as were shifting 250+ on a quiet week in percentage terms you get more back. Simple maths if you have a 3% failure rate on a product and sell 100 you will get three back and three possible people complaining. If you sell 1000 units then you will get 30 back and possible of 30 people complaining so then on a forum this can look rather bad, then add the fact that Digimate shipped us TN panel version some weeks ago it has caused problems with the reputation of this monitor.

However now all our stock is PVA and sales are beginning to accelerate again as word gets around, plus OcUK guarantee PVA panel as well. :)

Dissapointed, First not getting to AoC early access in time for the weekend, now i have to wait untill monday to get my new monitor to play with >:(

My question relates to using it with a ps3. I understand that i would need to get a HD fury converter, and this doesn't bother me. My only concern is that this monitor doesn't posses 1:1 pixel mapping, e.g will it fill the screen like it does with the xbox 360 after HDCP signal is removed? i was just wondering if anyone has tried this? dont want to fork out £70 for something that isn't going to do the job! :)

Sorry if this has been asked already, this thread is huge!

Yes, i'd like to know if it does a proper job too (fitting the screen). I should have done a bit more digging for my mate who just bought one of these (posted in another thread) - neither of us realised another cable would be needed :(

Just had my first night of gaming with the yuraku. Absolutely brilliant. No perceivable input lag, first class response time + huge screen = winner. It's almost like playing on a CRT again -- near indistinguishable.

Easy tiger. :p

LCDs have come a long way but they still have further to go before they can match the image quality of the top CRT monitors. Especially the budget LCDs.

I know what you mean though - for the price, performance is impressive.

Thinking of getting one of these.

I take it the Xbox 360 works fine via VGA cable (no quality loss?).

My only concern is that this doesn't have HCDP and see as this will actually be my television for the next couple of years (TV though laptop), it my be a problem if I go BlueRay etc. But I suppose i could spend an extra £70 and get HD Fury.

----------

The reason I am thinking of getting this monitor is the viewing angles as I need this monitor to be used as my TV too. Would it be reasonable to say that because of the 180* viewing angle, it would be ok for using as a TV as currently, my laptop is a bit poor when it goes to the viewing angles (i guess due to screen glare/glossy screen).

What's the actual build quality like? solid i take it? I don't really want anything that is flimbsy.

Hi everyone,

I've been watching this thread for a while now and have subsequently bought one of these monitors for ocuk, i'm very impressed indeed.

My mate has decided to order one, so i can let you know how well it does in a few days if you like (HD Fury Gamer edition)

I don't know, really. For gaming this is top notch. I had a Dell 21" with a trinitron tube and followed that up with a viewsonic VP201. The viewsonic was dire for gaming compared to the CRT, but this is very good indeed. I can't see any colour streaking or ghosting and the input lag is not perceivable. If it had better contrast I would say it was almost as good as my old CRT, but it's not quite there.

For 99% of people, this is everything they need for gaming, though :)

... and like clockwork just when I thought I'd got myself some flaw free cheapo ace monitor action, it's gone all faulty on me. A line of dead (black) pixels just appeared tonight as I was playing. :/

I'm going to get a refund for the Yuraku I think. Btw the e-tailer I ordered it from are trying to fob me off via the manufacturer even though the monitor is hosed within the week and I am legally entitled to a refund. I wish I'd just ordered something else now. At least OCUK arranged collection & sent out another instead of doing this...

Got mine on Friday, and it's awesome truly best bargain since I bought my 8GB ram for 348 notes... errr, which was the best bargain since I bought my 56" D-ILA HD TV for £999... which errr.. you get my point, it's a bargian, so make it so!

Cheers

Just start quoting the relevant sections of the Sales of Goods act and they'll soon change their tune, a chargeback may also sometimes be required to re-align their attitudes with reality though :D
