BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I'd like to say thankyou too, unfortunatley I wasn't at home today so had sent a webnote but home tonight I have an answerphone message, hopefully tomorrow should be able to arrange a suitable day to take receipt of the replacement.

To celebrate am thinking of a 4870 or keeping an eye on the 4870X2 :D
The DGM will feel like an Imax screen after having used CRT 19" for 3 wks
Thanks again

BTW, Yewen, Gibbo, et all, what reason did DGM actually give for allowing this to become an issue? Are they sticking to their story of not having any replacement panels to fix the monitors and if so, is it just a coincidence that a week after you decided to apply pressure, they decided to get re-stocked? Or, have they come clean?

Also, I (like 1000s of others) have a working DGM monitor. If it should develop a fault within the first year, should I contact yourselves or go straight to DGM?

glad it is sorted.

if this thread had been started on another forum you would have been none the wiser and it could have been very damaging.

not letting people raise an issue on here will push it elsewhere where you may not find out about it until it is too late - sound blaster incident that happened recently is a prime example.

had others not joined in and aired our disbelief at the treatment recieved by those affected this may well have gone on even longer.

at least if it is on here you can keep an eye and step in like you have.

and it was good of the MD to personally post a message on here even if it was to tell me to shut the up! :D

Even on our own forum we miss things, why it is not to be used for support problems as Gibbo and myself have stated. :)

Other people joining in with the issues have made no impact on this getting resolved, if anything they slowed me down sifting through pages of the thread trying to work out what was happening. :p

The panels are a legit reason, but not for more than a couple of weeks at the very most.

There service is not actually that bad at all and once the ball go rolling we had it all sorted within a hour at OcUK.

The issues wont occur again. If we do hear that they are we are also now setup at OcUK to know exactly what to do to get them resolved in record time. :)

I have settled for the issues being resolved although I do have a email contact where I will be asking for a little explanation for the delays. Not expecting the earth in the reply but a little bit of information to see if there is anything OcUK could change on our site to speed things up.

With the warranty I would always recommend contacting us first within the first year and having a chat with one of our support guys, if we are having trouble with a manufacturer they will RMA the product back to us, if the manufacturer is doing just fine like they normally are they can point you to the right dept. or contacts. :)

ten80p you know you want a 4870! Have you seen the deals Gibbo has gotten today on them? (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?&groupid=701&catid=56&subid=939&sortby=priceAsc)

Just bought one these monitors and i have a 6mm shadow running around the whole screen. It's like
the standard xp desktop screen is blue but right arround the whole screen it's a lighter shade of blue
As i say it runs right around the whole screen

It doesn't look like a backlight bleed to me,so don't know what it could be...Any idea's?

Below is a picture i did in photoshop. It kinda looks like the below but maybe not as bad.

It's good to see those problems sorted... I have a different question tho coz I'm running out of ideas now.

My screen developed a thin line of blue pixels running across the screen (close to the left edge).

I did the usual - checked different cable, connected it to another PC - the line is there.

So -RMA... got the screen back saying that they can't see the fault? So please tell me what else I can do to test it properly? Any ideas? Or shall I just make a pics of this blue line?

...or learn to live with it? :-)

Done:-) and thanks for the answer. I guess I will "retest" it during the weekend - I'm just wondering what I should focus on - will try to use this screen with different cables, then will connect it to all pc's in my house (we have 4 of them... and one Macbook:-) and if the line will still be there - I guess I have to make loads of pictures:-)

Anyway - is there a way of checking "visually" if this line is the line of "dead pixels" or it is caused by the "external" hardware problem??

Hi, do OcUK price match? As I'm thinking of buying another L2442WD "watch out for competitor mentions, please check our forum rules" but would rather give OcUK the business.

Pretty sure they don't. But it's usually worth the extra for the better customer support from OcUK.;)
