or gimme me some link of UK POSTAL services :P

Many thanks.

I have been popping in and out of this thread for a while now, and am now very interested in ordering this monitor. However, I have a few questions first (sorry if the answers are obvious). I will be using my monitor for gaming, movies and video editing as well as all the usual web browsing and word processing.

1. How does the input lag / response time of this monitor compare to the BenQ FP241WZ / Hazro HZ24W?

2. When ordering, does the lottery aspect still exist? I know it is a *VA panel, but is it likely that I would be unlucky and get one of the worse versions? How do the panels compare to the BenQ?

3. Have the issues with the warranty and returns been sorted out? If there is a fault, can it just be returned and replaced via OcUK?

4. What is the height from the base of the stand to the bottom of the screen?

5. a) What is the distance from the front of the stand to the back of the stand?
b) What is the distance from the left of the stand to the right of the stand?
(I ask because I may have to buy a monitor stand to raise it up, and I need to know if it will fit :))

6. If you were going to order a 24" monitor again, would you still buy this monitor?

7. Any other things you think I should have asked?

As you may have noticed, I am reluctant to spend £400+ on a Hazro or BenQ when this is less than half the price!! Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

1- The panel i have is the "M240UW01 V2" and as you can see Here thats the same panel that is used in the Benq FP241WZ so i guess the response time would be exactly the same

2. Your guaranteed a VA, if you dont get a VA then ocuk would offer you a free replacement asap as they advertise it as a VA therefore they will have to give you a VA

3. If theres a fault within 30days then ocuk will replace it themselves, im not 100% sure on whats happening after that point of time

4. 2.5 Inches

5a) 10" (its an oval shape but this is roughly the max width/heights)
5b) 13.75"

6)yes

Cheers for your answers, they were really useful.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was wanting the maximum depth and width of the stand, I assume you figured that out with the measurements you gave.

If anyone else has information about what happens with replacements after 30 days, that would be appreciated as well.

I would also be interested to hear about the different panels it is possible to get, or does a post already exist about this? I just want to make sure there isn't a large change of ending up with a bad one :).

Just recieved this monitor and I'm from Denmark.

It's a damn nice monitor. I previously owned 3 x HP w2207 and one NEC 20wgx2 pro. This is the best I have seen. Feels a little cheaply build but the panel is fantastic.

Regarding inputlag the French tested this monitor extensively:
On the one side is the Dell with an average delay of 4.1 images, and on the other, the Iolair with zero input lag – even having the luxury of occasionally being slightly ahead of the CRT.

I too can confirm this. It feels just as fast as my previous TN and IPS based monitors. I play a lot og HalfLifeDeathmatch where any type of lag would be noticed.

And yes I wouldn't hesitate to recomend this screen to anyone. I wish I had bought this one from the get go. Lost to much money trying out monitors..

"Hi,

Sorry unfortunatly we do not ship there

Many thanks Annika"

see :(

I know a lot of people would buy from OCUK, just have no clue why they send to Spain for example? How much is shipping to Spain?

I just checked a courier online, and a 12kg monitor box parcel insured for £250 collected from the UK and delivered to Spain cost £48.

The exact same parcel to Slovenia cost £158...

It seems that it is just prohibitively expensive to send to Eastern Europe. Obviously, that's not OCUK's fault, but the couriers.

Is there nowhere locally you can buy the monitor? It's made and sold in various guises all over the world.

nope sold out here, Germany do have it but other brand which they don't guarantee PVA/MVA panel and a little expensier, appx 10% but cheaper shipping.

Regarding the brightness of the screen. I too find it too bright.
My eyes hurt and gets teary. Turning contrast + brightness to zero doesn't help as the controls doesn't affect the backlight.

Hmm still have 5 days to get a refund. But I'm reluctant as I have no idea which screen to get then and appart from the extreme brightness I really like this screen.

wish there was a backlight control..
