BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I've just ordered one of these,I don't want to pay that much for a VA panel monitor.

Are all the ones being shipped now definetely VA panels?

I've just noticed that "Phase", "Clock", "H-Position" and "V-Position" are now all disabled on my screens OSD. I know for a fact they were enabled before because I recorded this video the day I got the display. Very weird, all this from pressing "reset" on the OSD.

I think they should be disabled over DVI they are only needed on VGA :)

I have this montor and am a little confused, so perhaps someone could explain.

When people say the monitor is too bright, even with contrast and brightness set to 0, how can this be?

When I set the monitor to those settings, I can hardly see anything, let alone be blinded by the light?

I just had an idea. Based on previous information in this thread:
Code:
AUO P-MVA M240UW01 V0 1920x1200 8ms G2G 1000 : 1 500 178/178 16.7m
AUO AMVA M240UW01 V2 1920x1200 10ms 1000 : 1 300 178/178 16.7m 72%
AUO AMVA M240UW01 V4 1920x1200 6ms G2G 1000 : 1 400 178/178 16.7m 92%
AUO TN Film M240UW04 V1 1920x1200 5ms 1000 : 1 450 160/160 16.7m 92%

Maybe the people complaining about the screen beeing too bright all have the M240UW01 V0 panel since it's 500 cd/m2

fish99 and sunama which panels do you have ?

Ok just stuck the BFG 7800 GT OC and no problems at all, I can get 1920 x 1200 fine over DVI. Does that mean the BFG 8800 GTS OC is faulty? It seems a bit strange that it was all working fine until I did a reset on the OSD. I don't quite know what to make of it, I don't have any more WUXGA displays around to test the 8800 GTS.

Still without my monitor even though the issue was "resolved" 2 weeks ago

DGM never shipped out my replacement 2 weeks ago (having been without for 3 weeks by then) OCUK kindy offered to ship one from stock due to arrive this tuesday, still no sign today and now just received an email from DGM's it-repair section saying mines been repaired and they want to ship to me

Sorry gotta go............Jeremy Beadle's at the door

Hmm since OCUK 24" isn't among the choices why do you ask in this thread ?

However I will give you my opinion. As they are all TN-panel based I wouldn't touch them.
I personally had the Samsung SM-226BW 22". I sent it back. Terrible homogenity + backlightbleed + TN (I didn't hate it at the time )

If you really want a TN monitor the best I have seen is the HP w2207(h) 22". But then again I had 3 and sold them all. Couldn't live with the typical TN problem where the top of the screen is darker than the bottom. All solid colors look like a gradient. Then there is ofcourse the panel lottery where you don't know which panel you are getting. This is a problem with both Samsung SM-226BW 22" and HP w2207. They both come with 3 different panels

these were my other choices 24"OC or one of these thats why i put in this thread, update original thread now sry for confusion. so what is my best option please??

I would go for the OcUK 24" VA panel. Had mine for about 6 weeks and its been great. The only slight niggle is the back light is a bit too bright, but its fine in a well light room.;)

Got mine today AU-M240UW01-V2 panel. It is on the bright side

I don't have any backlight bleed or dead pixels. The only problem is that's it's bright

ok i have a question about my ocUK 24"er i got on wednesday
when im playing games, grid, crysis, ut3, sometimes ( mostly during the intro scenes ) and sometimes during game, there is like a break in the picture, asif a black line, and as the scene contuines it moves up the screen. its hard to explain sorry
example
crysis, new game, and the into begins. when there is a flash from one bright part of the scene there is a definate line going up the screen as the rest of the scene is running
sorry to be the worlds poorest explainer !

any ideas please
playing at max res

I think that maybe 'Tearing'. It's because the intro video is out of sync with your monitors refresh rate of 60. This is normal, but if needed, you can fix this by forcing Vertical synchronization (v-sync) on your graphics drivers. This limits your framerate to that of your monitor.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Page_tearing

By the way, side affect of switching Vertical synchronization on may course mouse lag and may even half your frame rates in some cases, so only use if you are bothered about the lines.

Tell me if it fixes it.
