BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

luckily mine does not suffer from the buzzing when turned off although if it did it would not bother me too much as I turn it off at the wall anyhow.

I too have the AU-M240UW01-V0 that means Prem.MVA made by AUO....sounds impressive, infact it looks mighty impressive sitting in front of it....I am as happy as a pig in #@#~ especially for £135.

I asked about the price hike when I picked my B grade up and I was told it is to do with the strength of the dollar ?????????...I am not the chancellor of the exchequer so it means squat diddly to me.

The manufacturers in china will price these monitors in US dollars (as most computer hardware is). It used to be that £1 = $2, so if the maker charges $300 per monitor then it costs £150 for a UK company to buy it. But £1 only buys $1.84 now, so it costs £163 to buy a $300 monitor.

A bigger factor is probably the price of oil. That's shot up recently so shipping the monitors from china will be more expensive, and some of the materials used to make them (ie, plastic) are oil-based and will have gone up too.

A much smaller factor - container shipping these monitors will add less than a quid to their price.

Recieved my B Grade today, Panel AU-M240UW01-V0, unfortunatly I have a dead pixel

*surprise*

Its hard to notice when on these forums but it glows like mad when I have a black background.

Back light seems rather bright, even compared to my 22" TN.

Need to decide whether to keep over my AsusMW221U.

I ordered mine when there were still 10+ left. Fingers crossed I'll get mine in the morning. Our 24's may be on the same delivery van then?

But none of that explains why just one monitor would go up in price.

Yeah, I have a dead or stuck pixel in the upper left of mine, although it's hardly noticeable. I've tried all the normal ways of getting rid of it, massaging it & applying pressure while turning it off and on. Tried several of those applications, UDPixel is the best btw.

Might pay to give it all a go, you never know you could have more luck with it than me.

Hopefully my second screen will be the same panel (VA) and be dead pixel and buzzing free. Overall though it's a great monitor for the price, very impressed.

I heard through the grapevine that there will be more B grade stock soon ;)

Keep your eyes peeled.

You know ... here I am messing about with GPU's after getting one of these B-grades on Sat and you have to let that slip....

Now all I'm thinking is ... ooh FSX multi screen....

For the other posters... I had one dead pixel too, bit come on.... £135 ... still a bargain and I only see it when I look for it!

I'd more than likely buy another if I had space but I cba with dual monitors anymore.

Just sold my 22" for £150 so upgrading to this 24" cost me nothing and I even pocket a few quid :D
