maybe it's a design feature to stop you accidentally turning it off when using the other buttons
I'm going have to invest in some of these "calibrated fingers" so I can rate all of the other buttons in my life

nope all of mine feel the same, maybe mine's defective, I want a softer power button

there I was all happy
no dead pixels, no backlight bleed, excellent colour uniformity, great overall picture, a clicky stand etc. Now it's all for nothing as I have a uniform set of buttons without the special "safety" power button.
Haha
David can you tell me what your colour/brightness/contrast settings are?
30% brightness and 55% contrast.
Blue 48%, Red 42%, green 45%
I'm going to get some test images though to set it up better, these are just from watching a few movies/browsing and a couple of test cards.
Have a look at http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/calibrating.htm for info and ideas on basic setup.
I think as long as it works ok with a good "click" when you press it then you should be OK. There's bound to be some variation in buttons/mounting/construction between panels but as long as it functions as it should then I'd be happy with it.

Ewww, you used the beige DVI cable. *Pukes*
And, router on top of radiator? Blimey.
Wots wrong with the grey cable?
Its a switch, and the radiator is always off, 2 PC's make enough heating..
