BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I was always told that size isn't important. :p

Its not, but the extra width doesn't hurt ;)

On a more serious note, older games and the Eve Trinity Patch should have no problem on a 8800GTS 640MB at the native res but how will Crysis look? I think I may be scalling down the detail a little for this.

Doesnt need to be any higher for a TFT 60Hz is plenty for a TFT, they work differently to CRTs.

I am very happy with my screen, no bleed on a totally black screen and no shadowing on a totally white screen. Colours are nice and vibrant and i can really notice the quality over both my old 19" WS TFT's.

I personally find this better quality then the LG (M228WA) that i tested recently to, and even that was very impressive over the 19" screens.

And another thing to mention is the so called poor quality bezel, it really is not that bad. After reading posts here i really expected some shoddy workmanship on the monitor, but in all honesty it is no worse then any other monitor i have used.

Ok you cannot height adjust the monitor and the stand is a bit well........ standard...... but its far beyond being cheap crap if you ask me.

Nope sorry never seen that issue, have my monitor connected to 2 pcs, one on DVI and the other on VGA, neither have done that and both look A ok.

Damm, just realized ive been an idiot. At present running X2 PC's via my 19'' using a KVM, when I could have used one PC via DVI and the other VGA, and just switched between the DVI and VGA outputs using the monitors input selection. Is that what your doing t31os?

Didnt need that KVM switch at all then!

:o

Thats right just press one button on the front and it switches to the other input. A few of the pics i posted were taken whilst using the VGA, which goes to show there is no difference over VGA and DVI, well none i could see anyway.

The signal will just be as good, as if it where HDMI - HDMI? Using DVI(from monitor) - HDMI?

Can someone confirm the above for me aswell please?

Well I can't see why it would be any different as DVI-D is a digital signal like HDMI, you just won't get some features of HDMI such as the audio but you probably get the audio output from the player anyway (probably via SPDIF).

I know LCD are not the same as CRT but 60Hz seems abit low , Can't it be set any higher ?

No, 60Hz is the max. Refresh rates don't mean much for LCD displays, it's the response times you want to be looking at. Remember that CRT displays work completely differently in terms of refreshing the image.

Can anyone shed some light on whats goin on when i use DVI:

This is the first pic, notice the orange menu bar (usually blue) and start menu on the wrong side, if you look at the mouse pointer you can see that the screen is shaking really fast but it's hard to capture on camera. And the tearing on the right palm trees.

Colours are all like inverted or something, and lines goin accross the screen, though the menu bar is blue again.

If i set the resolution to 1920x1200 it goes mental aswell, is there a problem with the monitor? The cable? my 9800PRO?

Everything is fine over VGA.

I know I banged on this before, but if anyone could post a picture of this panel with a white clear background. Id be interested to see if there is any shadowing on other panels.

I dont think Im getting any, or whether my eyes are playing games on me, but I just wanted to double check.

Can anyone do me this favour?

Does anyone think this monitor is lighter on the right hand side vs the left? Or is it just a viewing angle thing?

Hmm this happened to me after trying to load COD4 at a res that wasn't supported, try setting to 1920x1200 then restart pc, that worked for me.
