BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

If you do buy a new video card, keep the current 350w psu. Try it. See if it works. If not, then replace the PSU. It "might" just work.

Also, I was under the impression that the 9800pro was capable of running the desktop at 1900x1200.

I think it might be best to create a new post in the video card forum, as some of those guys in there live and breathe video cards.

It could be that you current 9800pro is defective and is struggling to run at high resolutions, in your desktop.

Have you tried playing around with the refresh rate?

http://ati.amd.com/products/radeon9800/radeon9800pro/specs.html, it says on here it can.

Well, finally got round to redoing my little den with my new monitor hung on the wall.

Heres a couple of pics one in landscape and one in portrait. Can't believe how good this screen is.

hey

what stand (mount) do you have? does it swivel sideways so you can change the angle of the screen?

im thinking of buy 1 of these monitors hows it for gaming?

i mainly play mmorpgs/fps/rts games. is there any ghosting ?

Great for gaming even at non-native resolutions and there is no ghosting. I've played 'The Orange Box' games on it and have had no problems, it's fantastic.

It's an Ergotron Neo-Flex wall mount and it tilts, swivels, height adjustable and also rotates 90 degrees for the portrait/landscape.

They also do a table stand but I think the 24" may be too big for it as it's recommended upto 20".

Ive just looked up the desktop stand version. It has a capacity of 7.2kg. It might just be strong enough to handle this monitor's weight.

Its priced at around £30 inc delivery.

I was looking at this but I came to the conclusion that weight wouldn't be an issue, the size of the screen would (easy to tip over due to most the weight being spread out past the stand).

Aye, I too came to this conclusion when looking at the stand, tis a shame really as it seems nice and the price point is right. :p

Thanks for explaining that 60Hz refresh is ok

@ Barba Gann

Not needed Ice Tea - so are we buying this one or.......:P

Very tempted but the reports of problems and the couple of people that said they had scratches on the bezel is a concern that OCUK are resending out returned monitors as new :( I did ask Gibbo for a response on this a couple of pages back on Friday but he didn't reply.

I'll most probably decide if i might take a chance in the next 24hours but i'd hate to think what the return postal costs would be if there is a problem.

Hmm, just read the whole thread, very tempting, will wait for answer to that last question before buying though I think!

The horizontal lines developing so quickly + the scratches thing are quite worrying when factoring in return costs.

Why does scratches indicate anything other than they were missed during QC inspection at the factory ? AFAIK there's no evidence at all that OC are sending out returned monitors as new, there are a couple of people who have posted saying that they have found scratches on the casings but that's it ?

Have I missed something

Just recieved it, got it setup using VGA, screen doesn't seem as sharp as my Sony X-Black.

Yeah stand is quite wobbly, especially when using the OSD shame it hasnt got a tilt either :( Whats people done to tilt it up a bit, it seems to be pointing down quite a bit.

Not changed any settings yet tho.
