Doesnt make sense, yes coal is privately owned, if you buy it its yours.I think you usage of private is erroneous in this context.

A cursory Google throws up interesting stuff LINK, however I do also remember a guy from Dumfries in the news some years after the strike getting proof they were bugging phones etc.In addition I DO have some anecdotes that would certainly make you think, personally I`m 100% sure secret services were involved, I mean I think it would be hugely unlikely if they werent.

This is going to be impossible to moderate, far too many insensitive comments already posted. Regardless of her politics, people are celebrating the death of someone which I find, frankly, disgusting.

I don't particularly agree with the notion it's never okay to celebrate someone's death but I really don't see the point with Thatcher. By the end she was a senile old woman who couldn't even remember who the current Prime Minister was; whatever you may think of what she did during her time in power, she was long since irrelevant. Her death means nothing, and changes nothing, except - of course - to the people who loved her.

Me, I'll be laughing at the sick jokes, hoping for a tasteless Costello re-release rocketing to number one and shaking my head at all the links to 'ding, dong, the witch is dead' that have appeared on my Facebook feed.

See, at the end of the day, or well this morning to be precise, she was a frail 87 year old woman. Irrespective of what she done, good or bad as perceived, she was still another human being. We should have compassion for everyone, even those who have wronged us.

It's sad all the same when a person dies and leaves others behind.

All fine and good if someone shows repent but she showed none right up until her last days when she knew no one not even Lord Archer.

In this instance its because his post really was mistruth, and petty spurious 'tales' of little significance, FGS grow up, in huge movements like this you will always get anomalies and localised disputes. In addition he alleges that mining jobs were family jobs etc, I mean what a spectacularly petty and immature unprovable allegation, really?, Jeez this type of thing exists in all industries/walks of life.................... and the allegation that miners had their estates where other people weren't welcome, LOL, oh I just hate revolutions where people aren't welcome (unprovable again btw).
