Two people have backed up what he said about the high wages. I just dont get why people are saying hes lying. Especially people from scotland. He was quite specific that he only spoke for his own experience in his own town. He wasnt talking for places in scotland. Whereas it seems the whole of scotland knows with 100% certainty what went on in stoke at that time.

Lets be clear here, his point was against all miners.

Yeah we will listen to someone who says miners were making millionaires wages, and then just says he has "heard" people were making x amount, yeah right.

That happened in the north east too and many an old sweat local copper will tell you that it wasn't a trick that local Northumbria or Durham police officers did. The Met police on mutual aid were famous for doing the wage slip trick and it wasn't endorsed nor liked by local cops.

Im sorry, did you actually take 'millionaires wages' literally? Really?

His statement was confirmed by two other people. Thats enough for me. If you think hes lying then prove it or just stop talking about it.

I didn't say that, that is probably unprovable too, but you now have been enlightened as to the depth of how much the secret services were used, would you dismiss the probability out of hand?, if so why wouldn't you dismiss the mad ramblings saying miners made millionaires wages?

He put 'millionaires' in inverted commas because it was a clear exaggeration meaning they were getting paid very well compared to the rest of the working class. Two other people have confirmed experiencing the same.

You are giving no more "facts" than the people you are denouncing.
 
The miners and their treatment of 'scabs' was just as bad as anything the police got up to and lets not forget the 30% wage increase demand. It was a dying industry trying to flex its ability to disrupt power and heat for the country during the winter, and it failed. Maggie crushed militant unionism - now that ridiculous lot on the tubes are the exception rather than the rule.
