*Batman: Arkham Asylum*

Anyone done all the Challenges yet?

I have managed:

3 medals - Intensive Treatment
3 medals - Silent Knight
3 medals - Sewer Bat
3 medals - Record Breaker
1 medals - Shock and Awe
3 medals - Survival Tactics
3 medals - Rumble in the Jungle
3 medals - Invisible Predator
3 medals - Intensive Treatment (extreme)
3 medals - Silent Knight (extreme)
2 medals - Sewer Bat (extreme)
3 medals - Record Breaker (extreme)
0 medals - Shock and Awe (extreme)
3 medals - Survival Tactics (extreme)
1 medals - Rumble in the Jungle (extreme)
0 medals - Invisible Predator (extreme)

I am struggling on the Shock and Awe ones, due to those 2 being timed levels. Not tried the last Stealth one yet, but I am sure I will get 3 medals for that one.

I have completed all the challenges to 3 medals, it is just a matter of varying the combo and trying to save the ground takedown til last (RT+Y). Try and get a 7X or 8X variation and you get 2000 to 3500 bonus points at the end of the round. Also the ground take down is worth 100 points so a 20X combo gets you 2000 points.

A tip for Shock & Awe is once you have 5X combo use the instant takedown on the knife/baton guys and get them out of the way early or if they are near the edge use the throw and get them out of the ring. Once they are gone you can pick off the rest at will.

That batarang and batclaw are good as they stun the enemy giving you chance to get away, also use the jump evade as although it doesn't increase the combo it still keeps it going.

Hard mode complete :D Couple of tough fights at the end. Ivy killed me first time but I breezed her when I retried it. Just 6 combat challenges to 3 medal now for 100% :)

I see on one video on the sewer challange map this guy is doing takedowns by breaking legs and throwing people how do you do that is it a special ability you need to unlock?. Maybe this is why I can't do a single round without being hit even though I time Triangle just right but whats the use in countering when al you are doing is just stunning them not taking them out. If you go for a takedown it takes too long so some guy behind you clobbers you and then you loose the bonus.

Yeah it's a 3 stage ability, first unlocks the throw (X+A on 360), second unlocks the instant takedown (B+Y on 360, very useful against knife and baton guys)

Both can be used when you get to 8x combo (or 5x if you buy the 3rd upgrade)

I am sure I have that upgrade but after 5 combos it does not give me an indication of when that move is ready.

well the last one is easy, save that for the last guy.

the first one is the trickiest so you want to do that first, I can't remember if the 3 kills have to be at the same time or not. I did it with the ceiling that can be destroyed to the left of the elevator door (a guard patrols around here), the wall that can be destroyed to the right of the elevator door (there is a guard standing by this one) and the one on the bottom level below the second wall I just described. once you have the 3 explosives set, you want to be on the other side of the level and throw a sonic batarang as close to the third explosive location as you can as this one has no guard near it. You need to time it so the guard is walking past the first explosive location (the ceiling) as the guard investigates the batarang. It's really tricky to get the timing right.

As for the batarang through the window, do it through the window next to the destructible ceiling you destroyed for the first challenge. sonic batarang inside the room when you are standing on the roof, drop down the outside when the guard goes to investigate, aim the reticule at him through the window and bingo. Definitely the hardest predator challenge.

This is certainly the first game in years where i feel its a must to complete it, and then go back to find all the riddles etc i have missed.

Cant remember the last game that made me want to play it constantly.

Nearly done now (97%!!)

Need:

1 more medal on Sewer Bat (Extreme)
3 medals on Shock and Awe (Extreme)
1 more medal on Rumble in the Jungle (Extreme).

Has anyone done Shock and Awe extreme? I can't even get one medal, I always run out of time on the last stage, still have about 4 people left :( Can't see how i can do this any faster.

Me too, too many people with knives and electricty sticks on the final level. All I can think is take out the knife guys using batclaws or cape stuns, rather than waiting for the power up every 5 hits.

I did it by using the batclaw to knock them down (this also makes them drop the stun batons) and fighting the normal guys to build up the combo and then take down the knife guys. Then every time your combo goes gold use the take down on anyone. Also use the batarangs and evade to keep your combo up if you think you might get hit.

When I finally managed it I had batman jumping from one side the screen to the other taking people out because the batclaw plus batarangs kept the thugs all spread out and did not break my combo.

Also if you're near the edge you can just throw them over the edge to add to the variation bonus. The level was a massive pain and caused so many controller breaking moments.
