hey all;, hope to pick up batman arkham city for pc tomorrow, i have a 2gb 6950, what dx 11 features will be allowed to enable is phyxx for nvidia cards only, will it run dx 11 without phyxx
Just played it for an hour and it delivers on all my expectations. I've mentioned before this is my most highly anticipated game of all time and i'm satisfied beyond belief.
I tried it on DX11, it runs pretty good with micro-stutters here and there, so I came out and restarted with DX9...still looks fantastic, too many people are hung up on the appearance with DX11.
I am considering an old nVidia card for physx, just wondering how much difference it would really make though.
...apart from major slowdowns it looked fantastic with physx stuff flying around.
Did you get slowdowns or not mate?!? Just a bit confused as on your other thread you said you got no FPS drop at all.
If I remember some bits the FPS was as low as 25
Not happy with the securom DRM on the DVD version its already scratched my Disk1 DVD to pieces with its constant access @ startup so I can see it not working altogether in future unless they patch it out (highly unlikely as they never did on BAA or BAA GOTY).
Ridiculous DRM scheme to have securom with a forced disc check & GFWL which is using SSA so its not resellable anyway. I should have bought a digital version but the free Robin DLC & fancy 3D cover were big incentives to buy retail.
DX11 is playable on a Core i7-980x+GTX580 but DX9 is much smoother & DX11 is not worth the FPS drops for now especially as the game needs 2 playthrus minimum so I will stick with DX9 which is very smooth & still looks like the best Unreal engined game to date on PC. Doubt the patch will be until next week as most of US is on holiday until Monday.
New Securom dvd check is causing the DVD to spin a lot @ launch for around 2-3 minutes just like it did on the 360 version its a new form of disc based drm to ensure its a legit dvd this is causing scratches to appear already. I have 4 different dvd drives it spins up a lot on all of them if you have a silent drive or volume too loud you may not even notice but its spinning a lot.How exactly did DRM scratch your disc? If your drive spinning up is scratching your disc then you should be blaming your drive? Also the US has nothing to do with the patch as Rocksteady are based in the UK and we don't do thanksgiving
