Batman Arkham City - Thread

Haven't played this in a while as I experienced a glitch I couldn't get around wand was waiting for the update. End of a cut scene wouldn't load and it was saved straight before a boss battle so I couldn't even go off and do other stuff.

Then there was the cut scene audio/slow mo glitch.

Old thread I know but great game however this is the first game since buying my gtx 560ti that's caused it to have graphical triangles because of heat + overclock!. It hit 82c!, had to drop my core mhz by 10 my fan was already on 90% lol

All ok now, the temps are still a little high though in parts 76-78c

I had to drop some of the character detail to get more than a few FPS. Seems a very badly coded game to me but now I'm playing it looks great. :) Good fun, but I wish there was a bit more stealth involved. Some missions there really is no way inside a building except through the front door which means combat.

I had a well-overclocked HD6850 when I got this game and I had everything on max bar Dx11/PhysX.

To be fair, Dx11 still cripples my GTX680 for little discernable difference so I just leave it turned off.

Fantastic game still, apart from the horrible tumour that is GFWL.

I've had this game for months, but never really had a go at it due to the reported issues and it running like absolute dump when released.

Recently moved onto a GTX670, and my god, it STILL runs like garbage. V Sync is off, yet something appears to lock the game to 62fps on a 120hz monitor? GPU usage at 30%, stuttering/fps drops like crazy regardless of what settings i'm using ....forced V Sync off in Nvidia control panel as well, no difference.

Tried DX11, DX9, Physx on and off. The stuttering is still pretty much game breaking :(

Other games seem to be ok, get 99% usage in BF3 for example.

304.79 or newer Forceware fixed this FPS & PhysX wise but you also need the 1.2 update from GFWL servers to patch the game.

Pretty sure those are the drivers I downloaded to be honest :(

Will try and see if there's any patch i'm missing, I do use this through Steam so would have assumed it would auto patch? Maybe not with the toilet that is GFWL! :p

Steam do not update GFWL games its all via GFWL to limit piracy. Steam CBA to even offer the latest GFWL client which causes older GFWL titles issues if people cannot work out to manually update it from MS!

I've been pretty lucky with this.

Only started playing the other night, and I'm about an hour in. Everything on max, dx11 and physx on, at a res of 2560 x 1600, and it runs almost consistent 60fps on a 580 sli setup.

After reading the last few pages of the thread, I'm expecting things to go south soon :(

Only finished the full story itself 2 months ago (DCUO takes mucho priority you see) and I must say I was very impressed with the way it ended. Played Harley's Revenge and while I felt it was a good addition, I was left disappointed with it after finally finishing it the other night. I felt it could have been better, story wise anyway. Gameplay, I cannot complain at all. Much more fluid movements and the fact you can play as other characters (even after completing the game first time and going back for a 2nd bout), is what makes the game all the better.

Still need to go back and collect trophies and rewards, but that won't be something I will in a hurry to do just yet.

But yeah, the game certainly is epic...have they announced a 3rd outing yet? :D

Also, what's this I'm hearing about having graphics issues? I have a 6950 and haven't had any issues playing this game on the card. Even on my 4870X2 it was smooth for me.

Yeah I also haven't had any issues at all since release day, thankfully! Runs super smooth for me at 1080P with a 4850 512MB, everything at max (obviously no dx 11 or physx though :p) except I turned off motion blur (can't stand it in games).

Couldn't care less about dx 11 as it doesn't add much to the game at all unless you like to stand still and zoom in on plants etc. :D :p Would love to have physx though!

Going to buy Harley's revenge but I am waiting for it to drop in price by a bit first.

Only have a few trophies and challenges left to complete.

This is the only game that I have "properly" enjoyed since Batman: AA tbph (although did quite enjoy MP 3 but nowhere as much!)
