Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

Yeah i'm pretty sure the 2500k OC'd isn't bottlenecking on anything yet gaming wise. It's one of those chips that people will look back on fondly for a long time.

Largely depends on the game..I found it to be a bottleneck in Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4 compared with my 3770k. An i7 does help in some games, but not many.

I've bought from CD Keys once before and it was no problem but I keep questioning how they can sell for so low....
The Premium Edition (main game + Harley DLC + Season Pass) is £24.99
Steam £61
GMG £61
Very tempted but can't help feeling there's something iffy

I was the same really, so I bought an nVidia game code from the members market. Maybe look on eBay for one.

Obviously there's something very grey about the market they get their keys from, but as long as it works I can't say I care too much. Their customer service has always seemed really good too, so I expect they'd sort it out if there ever was an issue with a publisher.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't game requirement getting extremely steep in the past year or so?

Yes they are indeed most game of recent require 4gb or less of ram i think batman is the only game I've seen requiring 64bit OS and 6gb ram minimum.

To be honest it puts the PC version of the game in Enthusiast only sales which drastically reduces pc sales. and they wonder why pc gaming budgets are dying.

we will only see how it plays, to be fair past titles have been spot on in my opinion.

To be fair City and Origins were both open world, but I guess the map is much bigger on this one if it has the batmobile as well.

apparently 5x the size of arkham city with a massive height ceiling meaning you can jump from the highest buildings in the game and apparently they are very high
You can get an idea of height from this video

Looks like my three year old (to the month) system will run this nicely at 1080. Can't complain at that surely?!!

In all honesty, I'll be going for the PS4 version, but I've had all others on both PS3 and PC and I've no doubt this'll make my Steam library too. Awesome :)

Yeah but if your 3 yr old system will run it perfectly that makes you enthusiast level. also for ultra it reccomended GTX980 minimum what cards do you have from 3 years ago that will match that/?

AHHH! I am so ****ing hyped for this game, I just "know" it is going to be epic :D All 3 games have had an amazing story, voice acting, combat etc. and they just capture the feel of batman, gotham etc. perfectly!

As much as I want to play it as soon as it gets released, I think I might try to hold of until I get a free/g sync monitor and possibly a GPU....

I've only ever played the first one and can't really remember it very well... but I'm liking the hype around this and I will probably try it out, see the first 3 for £15 in GAME the other day but I refuse to buy from them.

Nah, I said nicely, and at 1080. Not ultra and not at 4k......

I've got a single GTX670. Ultra is out of reach, and I should hope so.
Ultra's always been an epenis setting on release for all games. Remember Crysis and subsequent games?!

But, looks like I'll be able to make it run smooth and look better than a console at 1080 on a three year old rig. I think that's very reasonable!

Perhaps my PC was 'enthusiast' spec when I built it, but barely, and to copy it now would cost much less.

(not a console bash, I'm getting it on PS4 first, Steam later in sale)

minimum requirement is a gtx 660 and we all know minimum usually means barely playable when it comes to AAA titles

crysis was just poorly optimised by the way :D

OS: Win 7 SP1, Win 8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-750, 2.67 GHz | AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 | AMD Radeon HD 7870 - 2 GB Memory Minimum
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 45 GB available space

Firmly believe my [email protected], 8GB Ram and a GTX 780 will run it without any issues with everything (ok, maybe not EVERYTHING but what matters) on full/maximum.

Also if the requirements suddenly take a jump on a game that's been in development for three years it smells like poor optimisation to me rather than any great leap in quality.
