Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

So one of two things will happen.

Steam gets backlash from Publishers for its permanent cut.

Publishers realise ****** Chinese porting companies aren't worth the hassle.

Hmmmm.

This can only be a good thing for PC games in the future. Hopefully more and more publishers are left out of pocket for the horrendous **** they spew forth.

I don't buy into the "lose/lose" scenario people describe.
Sure people are unhappy when games are delayed, but delays happen for a reason. Anyone who is incapable of waiting a little longer, for a decent product to be released, should probably just stick to console gaming.

It works ok on PS4 & XboxOne from a mech drive ? Maybe it becomes an issue when trying to run over 30fps...?

Don't think I'm imagining it when I say that there are more and more console games locked at 30FPS because the PS4 / XBox one simply don't have the grunt to run them any higher (or because TV's don't go any faster, I don't know)

You would have thought, with the backlash that happens every time a PC game come out with this locked, the devs would have learned by now.

Poor analogy at best, AAA multi platform games can happily thrive without Steam.

Refunds are exactly what's needed in the industry, Steam keeping it's cut though won't bode well for a lot of devs.
Those devs should release finished products then & know that if they do not then they open themselves up to possible financial issues, steam are entitled to take their cut because they have hosted the product & sold it thus fulfilling their part, the poor quality of the product is down to the devs thus the penalty should be theirs alone.

I'd rather the PC release was delayed (like GTA5) but get a better version of the game than the rubbish that's been churned out over the last few years.

If you want day one, get PS4 or Xbox One, you want the best version, wait for PC.

It was more aimed at posters on here, I guess you did not read the thread full of bitching from members about the game delay.

That delay was a joke. There is no way they needed over a year extra time to 'polish' the pc version, it was all about delaying for maximum profit imo.

Then when we finally did get it loads of people were and still are getting constant crashes. It didn't even look that much better than the console versions to my eyes.

If that is the solution to have to wait over a year for every game I am not sure I want to game on PC anymore. End up having to double dip and the second time playing a game is never as good.

No!!! Please don't go - what ever will we do without you!!?

I don't understand what forces you to buy the game twice? Just play one of the many other games you no doubt own and have some damn patience

I just had a pop-up from nvidia experience saying 'download the Batman Arkham Knight ready driver"...Erm, no thanks! :p

I can't imagine what it is going to do to my system!

Arkham City still stutters in places on my machine despite being installed on an SSD and running with i5 4960k, 8GB RAM and a GTX 970. Arkham Origins is the same and also has frame rate drops into the 40's in certain areas no matter what settings you use.

It's either PhysX and the Unreal Engine don't run well together, or both game developers have problems getting the Unreal Engine to works as smoothly as other developers.
