Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

This may be quite a wait. Gutted. I want to buy it for my PS4 but I begrudge paying another 40 quid when I already own the bloody thing

It's hard to tell just how much work they will have to do. I'm presuming they'll rerelease the same store entry so to not making people buy it again too.

Call out the people that decided to outsource it in the first place, and have them make an apology. I would imagine it was a joint decision from both WB and Rocksteady due to the workload.

It's pretty obvious that however they're streaming the geometry it's not doing a great job. Have seen as much as 7gb of VRAM consumed. This is likely the overuse of what is referred to as forever buffers, and poor evaluation of transient buffers where frames are discarded which is why people with GTX 980s are struggling. Basically it's a hot mess!

So I have it on Steam, can I get a refund? And will there be a new version coming out? Or does no one know at the minute?

You can get refunds on Steam anyway these days if you meet a certain criteria. Played the game under an hour or had it for less than 14 days I believe, whichever comes first (don't quote me but it's something like that!)

yes if you bought direct on Steam you can contact support and get refund . yes the game will be release again but we might need to wait another update about what will happen next or when .

I got it for cheap so I think I'll just play Witcher 3 and GTA V till something is sorted. Fingers crossed the version I have will get patched. If not I won't be happy.

yes:

Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (support.wbgames.com). If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds) or the retail location where you purchased the game.

Agreed, not just Gameworks, but if you look at all the titles Nvidia had a hand in lately they all had launch issues. Couple that with a small team doing the PC version and it spells derp.

At least Rocksteady are taking action now. They are obviously serious about sorting this out.

In the meantime PS4 has surprised me with how good this looks and plays..

Also wish people would stop popping up all over the place, ******** made me spill my cup of tea. Random Batman popping out of nowhere while I was snooping around his lockup as the commissioner made me almost fall out of my chair :D

Spoiler tag that:mad:

I blame NVidia totally for the mess

TWIMTBP

If NV are happy to have the above advertised in the opening credits they need to take responsibility for the garbage that actually appears on screen.

Can I then go to Dell and tell them that the crap I'm watching on their monitor is their responsibility too as its their name thats on it ?

I see that you still can't let this go, this is pure gold :D

They have cut ambient occlusion or at least it is not working for me. Seems the clickbait was in fact right. Seems Nexus your relying on clickbait has come through for you this time. I'll give you a 50% apology given you had no idea really if it was the case or not :p.

Pretty disgusting really.

On a seperate note two card scaling isn't fantastic but it is working and roughly using 60-70% GPU usage, with the 3rd card dedicated to PhysX. 3 card scaling is negative, however Unreal Engine 4.0 doesn't really support SLI very well natively - GG Epic.

Have to admit, it feels dirty playing it now knowing they've taken a shader technology fundamentally sound like AO out, considering the performance hit isn't even normally that great. What the hell were they thinking.

Two things you can learn from this, don't pre-order a game based on pre alpha footage that was released before the XB1 dev kit had even been launched, and secondly do some investigative reading into draw call limitations and rendering techniques, and come up with something conclusive that shows they could have done a better job. Instead of googling for every single point you make.

2 things you can learn from this:

- post your own proof (and not just your "word" but, pictorial evidence) to dispute the claims that are being made and PS.... you still haven't answered any of my questions with proof...... tick tock tick tock
- admit defeat rather than digging an even bigger hole for yourself

Wasn't a complete waste of time though as at least we had a good laugh on ts about this discussion last night :D

And remember....

Have a nice day!
