Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

Doesn't look like you get the same amount/effect as consoles though:

So then if people are saying that they have the rain effects on pc just like the consoles (although afaic, it doesn't look as good), are people using the gameworks rain effects? If so, what happens if you disable it? Bare in mind that the consoles don't have gameworks...

Gamesworks off as you canna do a screenie with it on :(

They have cut ambient occlusion or at least it is not working for me. Seems the clickbait was in fact right. Seems Nexus your relying on clickbait has come through for you this time. I'll give you a 50% apology given you had no idea really if it was the case or not :p.

Pretty disgusting really.

On a seperate note two card scaling isn't fantastic but it is working and roughly using 60-70% GPU usage, with the 3rd card dedicated to PhysX. 3 card scaling is negative, however Unreal Engine 4.0 doesn't really support SLI very well natively - GG Epic.

Have to admit, it feels dirty playing it now knowing they've taken a shader technology fundamentally sound like AO out, considering the performance hit isn't even normally that great. What the hell were they thinking.

Ok, so what you're saying is that the lower resolution gifs are biased against the PC image???? How so?

The compression will affect both equally given that they are both the same resolution (at least they look similar in terms of sharpness/clarity, happy for someone to provide the individual images so that I can check the res.), if the gif is lowering the quality of the PC shot, then it would be diminishing the quality of the PS4 shot to the same extent. Regardless, it doesn't explain the missing rain and AO effects which are independent of resolution...

Of course, there's nothing to prevent you from providing pictorial evidence to the contrary.

Also, this isn't a pre-alpha version but the final release version.

And yup, still denying the witcher 3 graphics downgrade, once again care to provide proof against all the other media sites evidence?

Two things you can learn from this, don't pre-order a game based on pre alpha footage that was released before the XB1 dev kit had even been launched, and secondly do some investigative reading into draw call limitations and rendering techniques, and come up with something conclusive that shows they could have done a better job. Instead of googling for every single point you make.

Slightly off topic for this thread, but as many bat fans are likely to be in here.....

For anyone in interested in improving the FOV, I've just tried the Arkham Origins FOV fix and can confirm it works in AK too :D

Details here: FOV Fix

I've not tried the permanent fix, but using the numeric pad keys on the fly is good enough for me.

The mouse sensitivity can also be changed in the same file.

I'm simply never pre-ordering anything again. There's no way I'm giving these fools my money and this is again what we get in return. It's happened way too many times now. PC is now an after thought for developers, its all consoles. Really, wtf is the point in 980Ti's and FX's if this is the **** that is sold to us.

Post on NeoGAF saying that with all the Gameworks features turned on, the game reverts to directx10. Apparently the OSD doesn't work with Gameworks turned on, but if you have a Logitech keyboard with the LCD screen and Afterburner applet, it should tell you which API is running. You have to restart the game to enable or disable the GW settings. Don't have the game yet so can't check this out myself.

Could possibly be why some effects appear to be missing in pc version?

So the game is made on a pc, ported to a console and then ported back to the PC with even lower quality than before ?

Damn consoles .... knew it was trouble ever since they started using discs instead of cartridges! :p

Is anyone not worried about the pricing of the game? For a long time, even before the Ti bundles were revealed, it was going for £15-£20. I picked it up from CDKeys for £15 about 2 months ago.

If they knew it was going to be a balls up and felt there was no choice but to sell it short, is it ever going to be fixed to a respectable level?

I still have Watchdogs sitting in my library unplayed. Did they ever fix that?

I see you're still sore because someone disagreed with you about the Fury Nano being an overclocker / watercooler's dream (as it's on a minute PCB with a 175W TDP that's specifically not designed with this in mind - and which the Fury / Fury X specifically are).

There, as here, you just got angry instead of providing any form of counter-argument whatsoever.

No, that was pretty much you, looking at cardboard specs and assuming knowledge on the voltage regulation on a product that was under NDA.

Full derp. 5/10 for effort.
