Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

It's clearly not Nvidia's fault. They didn't develop the game.

It is bad PR having the Nvidia splash as the game's loading, though.

This.

Nvidia work with them but cant hold their hand 24 hours a day. I have a feeling this game looked very different before RS handed it to a set of bedroom coders (no offence to bedroom coders) and they had to turn stuff off rather than fine tune it because they had no experience of working on PC games.

End of the day,if you give work to sub contractors then you are still responsible for said sub contractors end product and the standard of work they do. I dont really blame the bedroom coders either as RS clearly did not do their research and thought them up to the job

The bottom line is if the game runs like animal waste NVidia should not allow the game devs to release it with their name attached to it.

In a case of the company i work for which has been going since 1976 they threatened to pull subcontracted work from another company not because of the quality of the work but for the behaviour of the company which had phoenixed too many times which was ending up screwing over to many other businesses and was informing customers that a name change was coming which in itself is not an issue but its how you go about it and to what purpose and it was to pull another phoenix and the company i work for said if you do that then we are pulling our work (we were there biggest customer) because we cant risk our good reputation by association which would be seen as supporting such behaviour, informed all of our competing companies of that fact and our customers.

Because the company could not phoenix because the majority would pull contracts, that company ended up folding as there business model ended up depending on phoenixing.

So basically the company i work for put reputation before out right profits because no other company could compete with the prices of the subcontracted company.

Thats as it should be. I still have a feeling that the game was in a much better state before they shipped it to the cast of sesame street to "finish" it off :D

The Batman Arkham series has been the poster child for Physx/Gameworks since the beginning. Nvidia was promoting before the release so they knew exactly what the game was like beforehand. Trying to deflect the blame from Nvidia and Gameworks is hilarious since the consoles don't use it and are fine but the pc is presumably using the console code and only adding the Gameworks features. Can you see where it could have gone wrong?

Runs and hides\.

:p

Had another ten minutes on it and Im going to leave it until theyve had time to add the missing features. Still looks flat as hell and like a 360 launch title

Having played another hour or so today, with the 353.38 drivers the game runs fairly well for me overall. Contrast this with much older drivers I was using, and the game was literally unplayable. Normally you would expect something to run fine but not at it's best. As much as I don't like pop ups, like with BF4, a message regarding drivers before launching games isn't a bad thing. Something telling you what the game is optimised to run on and that without using the said driver you may suffer issues.
