Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

They're not associated with bad games, just games that run poorly on PC with or without their association. I won't stoop to speculating the terms of a contract I have no knowledge of, it's clear you've already made a decision without any knowledge of it yourself.

Bottom line is they're not developing the games. I am now going to play the game in question, because it's actually quite enjoyable, bye ;)

Well you should have worked out that i meant runs badly as i said that in the second instance.

Yes the bottom line is that they are not developing the games and the only one trying to hold NV accountable for the games was Kaapstad but you keep replying to me as if i was agreeing with him when i clearly was not.

But im am holding them accountable for there association of badly running games and the stunt with the physx video and maybe its because of all the preorders on the PC version and the NV sponsorship money if we out source it to a cheap development team and give them only 8 weeks which saves even more money because time is money we can turned a profit on the PC version even before release so lets just chuck it out there seeing that the real bread and butter was the console versions.

The contract really does not matter when NV priority is not but about well running games but promotion of the GPU brand, just plaster it on everything they can.

I will be buying the game if they fix it and when its got all the DLC, just like i have with all the other Batman games.

It must be at least a little embarrassing for Nvidia's 'the way it's meant to be played' animation to be played before broken games like Unity and Arkham Knight.

I think they may employ a little more quality control on games they attach their brand to in the future.

Agreed, it's madness that they don't already!! This damages nVidia as much as the developer imo

I completely agree! It should never have been released like that, not with NVIDIA always claiming they work closely with developers with Gameworks and their TWIMTBP initiative.

Add in how absolutely terrible their drivers have been since the launch of the 980Ti and it's all been a horrible experience for somethings.

NVIDIA have once again claimed they're working closely with the Batman Devs, so we'll see if it actually pays off for once.

Looks like the real deal would fix it...

Right, ok. Thank you for partly clarifying my point - in that the notion is senseless to blame another party not within your control.

Well sorry but thats the way of the world when it comes to association, it does not have to be directly your fault, hence why NV is jumping in to try to fix it.
And if you dont want to take or handle any negativity by association then you dont associate with them.

Madonna gets dropped by Pesi because of one song.
Models and actresses getting dropped from advertising sometimes even TV/Films deals because of a comments or behaviour in public.
Getting kicked out of an establishment or even attacked or even arrested just because you are there friend even though you had not done a damn thing.

Looked at the update history for Arkham Knight in Steam.

Doesn't say that it's been updated, only what they're currently working on fixing as a priority.

Changed the fps limit to 59, though, and will give it another go.

As you say, people plaster their names on something they also get tarnished when that product sucks.

More to the point is Nvidia run around telling everyone and his dog how active they are with their TWIMTBP games. MMJ runs his mouth off in every single thread about how AMD doesn't interact with developers at all but Nvidia send their own devs to every TWIMTBP game to help implement features and improve games.

Ultimately if you're going to have your PR guys pushing how active you are and how Nvidia sends people to implement and work with devs on gameworks/twimtbp titles, then you have to take Nvidia at face value and believe they also worked on this title. That they haven't come out and said "oh, btw, we DIDN'T work with the dev on this one" is what I'd be doing if I was Nvidia in this situation but they aren't/haven't.

More importantly is this, Watchdogs, sucked, Unity sucked, this game sucks, in terms of utterly wasted performance, horrific optimisation, crashes/instability and in multiple cases being launched without anything like the the graphical features promised.

Regardless of if Gameworks is to blame, Unity, Watchdogs, Batman, they are made by different studios(some under the same name like Ubisoft but still different studios working within Ubisoft), there are a bunch of games all with problems and the one linking factor is Gameworks.

In each game we get unrealistic effects, bad performance, dodgy stability, poor launch state and Gameworks is the one common thing amongst them all. If Gameworks is to blame or not, it sure LOOKS like it's to blame.

I got an update last night. It was about 67mb.

You're absolutely right. Updated around 11.50 this morning.

Still not really playable, though. I can see why they locked the frame rate to 30, it's all over the place now I've increased it to 59. Particularly frustrating in the batmobile, when you need it to be very responsive.

Seems like a great game. I look forward to playing it when it's fixed.

Go into the engine ini and alter the desired frame rates, 58 min max 62. It doesn't make a great deal of difference, but it helps.

AMD fanboys will blame Nvidia anyway, so it doesnt really matter. Who was to blame for BF4 and GTAV, that would be the developers then ?

It's clearly not Nvidia's fault. They didn't develop the game.

It is bad PR having the Nvidia splash as the game's loading, though.

Yup, it isn't nvidia's fault that the game runs **** and has/had missing graphics etc. that is primarily down to the developers although I can see the point that people are making about nvidia's involvement and how supposedly "nvidia go that extra mile to make sure the game runs great and is an enjoyable experience by helping the developers with the games optimisation when it comes to gameworks etc." as mmj_uk and many others like to keep shouting from the rooftops about this all the time....

Either way, I don't like the nature of gameworks and I do hope that it dies of quickly.

Again, what is wrong with GTA 5? And how is it an AMD game considering it has nvidia options in it?

It worked perfectly for the majority of both nvidia and AMD users (myself and several others sat up till 4/5am in the morning playing the game crash free with great performance).

If you have/had issues with the game then I suggest you check your drivers and the rest of your PC.

DM has no reason, he just likes slating NV no matter the subject matter. It's been like that for so long he cannot possibly argue against it as he has absolutely never been critical of AMD.

AC:U is actually well optimised on the PC. Anyone who has actually given it the time of day will tell you that.

Comparing this release to Gta5 is a total insult and you know it. Bf4 might not have been great with the bugs but at least it's a full online game which itself brings about problems. This is probably the worst AAA launch of a single player game that i can remember. Gamework's is becoming known for being associated with games that release with bugs that totally ruin the experience. The funny thing is most of the games when the bugs get cleared up are pretty good. It may not be NV's fault but if you fly with the crows you get shot with the crows as my old headmaster used to tell me when i would be getting a telling off for hanging around with the wrong sort lol.

Seven hours clocked on the game and I am enjoying it, performance seems fine to me with afterburner showing 60 fps.

Its my first Batman which I have bothered to play even though I own the whole series and I am enjoying it so much I will more than likely try the others once I have completed this one. :)
