Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

As stated, that was a split second in 2 hours of gaming.

I'm not saying it's perfect, lord knows it could do with some high-res textures and yes it's stupid that it needs all that processing power, but it's perfectly playable.

I mean, if you're looking for locked 60fps at 4k, then you aren't going to get it until they do some work on the game but I've played far worse games on release.

The worse problems are had by AMD gamers, I run it in the 40/50/60 fps area which is playable but once I get into a car chase the stutter I experience makes controlling and timing the steering a nightmare.

If I play like a 16 year old batman who hasn't got a full license and therefore can't drive I'm fine but you can't get away with that unfortunately

Bad comparison though as shooters suffer with anything under 60fps. A lot of 3rd person action games are perfectly playable under 60 but this somehow does an amazing job of making it feel smooth

I'm not comparing Civ to Counter Strike here, I'm comparing one fast paced game to another, Batman's engine handles it better than the Crysis engine does, and I didn't say Crysis as an example because it's a shooter, I said that game series because other shooters handle 30 better than Crysis does, so comparison is valid.

But smooth at 30 it is not, playable yes, smooth, no where near in my eyes, the only reason that cap is there is because they screwed it up anyway.

Locked at 30 the motion blur is intense. Almost makes me woozy, so I leave it unlocked at 1440p. Stays above 50fps most of the time. There is an odd hitch here and there though even if just looking at the sky. No specific reason or way to get it to do it. If I cap the fps again it stops lol.

Oh well, almost done with the game and it's been AMAZING!

Played this for a couple hours earlier, has it been patched? Using a 5820K + GTX 960 and honesty thought it plays great.

30FPS lock left on (Because GTX 960) V-Sync set in Nvidia control panel and game (Still get some tearing). All settings on high (Not Ultra). Played really nice very few drops down from 30FPS, when it drops it seems to be when loading in rather than performance related. Like something isn't quite optimised. That aside was really playable. Oh and latest Nvidia drivers seem fine as well. Good stuff.

Is there anyway to stop screen tearing?

Yeah it's crazy how smooth it actually feels at 30fps. Most games I find unplayable anywhere near 30 but this actually feels great. Also, brilliant game. Just keeps getting better.

I was impressed also! 30fps on any other game would feel awful, but its not that bad here.

Didn't realise it was a spoiler, thought it was inevitable :o

Loving the story so far, very well scripted game, I do hope those that can't enjoy it at the moment (multicard and amd users) get to soon.

Nope nothing since the 27th of June, to be honest I've not had that much of an issue with performance anyway. I did unlock the FPS to 60 but it rarely drops, even when it does it's only briefly while driving around.

Playing with a controller helps out massively I think with how smoothly it plays.

Also the driver settings that I use, Fog and AA disabled in-game. PhysX set to CPU.
