Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

And yet one guy in his free time.... has already fixed most of the performance issues lol....

"default" game runs absolutely awful but following the guide above has much improved the game and honestly aside from fixing the slight stuttering I get every now and then (which I doubt the patch will fix as EVERY "gameworks" game has micro-stutter issues for me regardless of settings) and giving us HD textures, I'm not sure what more they could do.

I'm not very far in though so perhaps performance could drop severely as a few others have reported....

Yeah, so far into the game it develops a weird stutter when using a quick throw item in a fight. No problem outside of fights. Big thread on steam forums about it and I've tried everything to solve it. Very strange.

So then the game will run even worse? :p :D

They should have done this a long time ago though.

As for the game performance, at default, it is ****ing awful and unplayable but using this tool, it runs well, not perfect but a damn sight better, I am not hopeful that they will get rid of all the micro-stuttering though, I still have yet to play a gameworks game on my PC that has zero micro-stuttering....

EDIT:

Lets hope that the patch in August is VERY good and fixes/improves the game vastly, if it is just what kaldaien @ steam, has already done then it will be a big disappointment considering he has done this in his free time and within a week of the game being released.

Well I played on the Fury X quite a lot as well as the Titan X and whilst the Fury X was considerably slower at times, it was still pretty good. Just the bigger dips in frames really did show up and missing out on the particle and smoke effects of course but generally I was pleased with how it ran on the FX.

I was kinda surprised that I could actually run the game 1440p (tried 4K, but that was unplayable) on my 290X Lightning. Bring on Crossfire and vastly improved SLI support!

I have far more demanding games than this. This has actually been a head scratcher for me as I have not had a single crash or problem on either GPU. Great game and story and looks really good as well.

Batman: Arkham Knight PC Update, 8/20
Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC community,

The teams have been working hard to address the issues with the PC version of the game. We are happy to confirm that we are now putting the first interim patch into testing. If all goes well, we expect to issue the patch in the next few weeks. We’ll be sure to report back in the next two weeks on how the testing is coming along.

Below are some of the major fixes and improvements you can expect in the upcoming patch:

• Reduced frame rate hitches
• Optimized system memory and VRAM usage
• Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
o Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB

• More Robust In-Game Settings, including:
o Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90
o Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain
o Added a “High” Texture Resolution value
o Added Texture Filtering option
o Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only)
o Added VRAM Usage Meter
o Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option

• Fixed low resolution texture bugs
• Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

While our first priority is fixing the issues listed above, the team is continuing to work on the following:

• Skipping the boot up splash screens
• DLC/Season Pass content
• Additional updates such as Photo Mode

We again thank you for your continued patience as we work on these issues. As always, we are continuing to monitor and listen for any additional issues.

Skipping the splash screens shouldn't be an issue... even if they are loading the game in the background. Normally any loading is done way quicker than the logos take to play so you get a few seconds of black screen then bang you're at the main menu.

Or is there something new going on here?

You can already remove them with a launch command, believe it's something along the lines of -nologo.

I'll double check when I get to my PC later today.
