Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

To be fair, that's using the benchmark and is a result of the interactive smoke. I've found that actual ingame results are way better, though I haven't been able to play through the whole thing yet, so there may well be areas that drop the fps just as low.

Turning on the GimpWorks features still cripples performance, yes. Here demonstrated on a GTX 970 running at 1515/7850:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVemnv_LCf8

GW on: 30 min, 89 max, 61fps average
GW off: 70 min, 132 max, 96fps average

A 36.46% performance hit and minimums more than halved for some smoke and bits of paper flying around. Thank you based Nvidia.

Quite the performance hit. I do agree it doesn't really add much with it on vs off for the performance hit you get.

^^

Pretty much like every gameworks effect then :p Like I said earlier in the thread, I have yet to see a gameworks effect better than any built/optimised engine effect especially considering they don't kill the fps anywhere as much as the gameworks effects....

Whoever it is, it's way too obvious :D

OT: Pre-patch, I had everything maxed @1440p with or without GW, using adaptive v-sync and it held a solid 60fps. Now, it's fairly solid, but there are noticeable drops to 40-50fps here and there when flying around.

Still does that random crash that you posted in the other thread, Nexus. That's the bigger issue for me anyway.

Does anyone else find the cutscenes a little juddery? It's always been like that for me.

Yeah it is amusing, I have had that crash more often with the last 2 patches than I did when the game was first released, I played through the entire game with only 2 crashes (the second one happened as soon as I launched the game after the first one) with using just kaiden's tool.

My performance before any patch with kaiden's tool:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28387269&postcount=1183

min - 41
max - 78
average - 57

My performance now without kaiden's tool using similar settings i.e. no gameworks, aa or motion blur:

min - 49
max - 100
average - 67

There is still micro-stutter for me but considering every gameworks game that I play has micro-stutter regardless of FPS/settings, I don't think there is anything that can be done to fix this.

And yeah cutscenes are still a little juddery, nowhere as bad though.

Dont think anyone said GW was free, least of all me.

I said GW was supposed to be at fault for the game being BROKEN. Which of course was utter pish

Already have, I tried dropping overclocks, different drivers etc. and still the same :(

I don't know what it is but every gameworks game has slight micro-stutter on my PC, some are better than others i.e. the witcher 3 and this game for the most part are smooth but compared to other demanding titles i.e. gta 5, BF 4, they all run perfectly smooth in comparison :/ Watch dogs, assasins creed, dying light etc. are awful. I can get them smoother by doing various things i.e. switching to borderless windowed mode and/or limiting the FPS to 59

I am very sensitive to stutter etc. so what I notice, most others probably won't, I imagine free/g sync would help but as I said before, I don't really want to be tied to any GPU brand + there isn't an ideal monitor out for me yet.

Make sure you have enough vram and system ram, they're recommending 12gb system on Windows 10 and I'm fairly sure the vram bar in the settings is near 5gb for me at 1440.

Will have a run tonight with it all on/off.

:D

Anyone figured out who's dupe account this is yet? My money is on lambchop.

OCUk are quite good at fining dup accounts from IP logs so we would see Lambchop disappear.
It is just some random troll, but it if KoM gets permabanned then flopper should as well, they were like ying and yang.

All high settings, latest patch, 16x AF 2560x1440

4770K @ 4.6ghz
16GB DDR3 2400mhz
Zotac 980Ti @ stock

Gameworks enabled: 66FPS

Gameworks disabled: 99FPS

Expense: 33%

Worth it? Debatable, the smoke especially out of the bat mobile is nice, if not a little OTT. Enable it if you have the grunt to do so, otherwise enjoy the game without :)

You can safely ignore minimums too, like previous batman benchmarks, its the very first frame of a scene.

Is it worth me getting another 8GB of RAM? I haven't tried since i reinstalled last night but I will watch the RAM usage as I play at 4K, has me worried hearing 12GB..

OK Benchmark: Minimum=26 Average=47. It did stutter once or twice at the start. 4K max settings but no enhanced smoke, rest is on/full.

Not sure here what they had to say in the patch notes.
We are still working with our GPU partners to add full support for SLI and Crossfire. In addition, we are working with these partners to address stability issues on certain cards related to the latest drivers.

Hmmm, I still have my doubts, I can't play at 4K without Crossfire, although i'm doubting whether the game will even play at that with it.
