Battalion 1944 (ww2 game )

Well, they said they really didn't want a single player campaign - so it makes sense they put a stupid amount for a stretch goal to make it unachievable.

Getting to the British forces stretch goal is enough for me thanks. I've backed at £50.

I'm also hoping for the British Forces goal to be reached. £40k to go :(

There's another WW2 shooter Kickstarter started now - Days of War. That's going to use the Unreal 4 engine.

Hmmm, maybe publishers will get the message that a lot of people don't want future shooters and want new WW2 games...

Ive backed this evening. Highly doubt we're going g to get to the single player campaign. I'd like the behind enemy lines mode though; sounds basically like horde.

Gone in for £25 and I am looking forward to this. Feels like it needs much more attention that's it's getting, especially if we want to be hitting the further stretch goals

Good, I hate campaigns that are shoe horned in. Let them make this the best mp game possible.

yeah, i just saw that (made a thread about it). It looks really good, if a little too fast perhaps. I've pledged for both! I'm a huge fan of the genre so had to be done :)

That's not true or atleast it is not true for me. I have no problem with the era as long as the game is balanced, fun and doesn't have all these modern retarded mechanics and unlocks.

Sooner than later people will be inundated with modern WW1/2 games and will get bored again.

I'm sticking with Battalion, I don't need to buy another person's dream when it matches what the Battalion devs have envisioned.

really hope this game gets released,,ive been waiting for a decent ww2 shooter for what seems like YEARS!!! I'm fed up of all the future rubbish!

I think what he's getting at is the fact that it can be done in your spare time as there is so little involved, while having a full 9-5 job elswhere. That 25k is a nice extra.

Clearly I need to go and have a word with all our full-time CMs...

It's easily a full-time job for any decent sized game community. Good that they're being professional about it and planning these things.

Very informative. Lots of things were discussed. Hopefully the CM will put everything into a transcript.

- Alpha May 2017
- The studio is in Derby and people can come and visit them

Update from the devs this Friday apparently.

August 12th 2016 at 10:00am BST (UK time) the Battalion store will open up with the PayPal store, new website and forums over at BattalionGame.com. The new home for Battalion 1944 will be a community hub, giving you access to news, updates and everything Battalion.
The new webstore will give an option for those who missed the Kickstarter to pre-order and get into the Closed Alpha, Beta and Early Access testing sessions of Battalion 1944, with PayPal fully supported! (PC/Steam Only).

Have they run out of cash already?

Well considering the initial goal was £100K and they raised around £300K iirc then I'm not surprised they have ran out of funds. Shortly after the guy had his wedding, went on a lavish honeymoon and then has been on a few holidays since, so I wonder where the **** the money has been going as their newly hired community manager is as helpful as a chocolate teapot. However they do still seem committed to the game but we should have seen a development update with gameplay by now.
