I think it's pretty much guaranteed it's not going to be a WW2 game. I don't think it will excite their audience.

Hey little Timmy, do you want to play a game set in an horrific war fought 50 years before you were born with weapons and planes made of wood? Or do you want to play as a super soldier with a jetpack and lazorz!

I'm a bit worried how they use the word "The FUTURE of battlefield" in their adverts for announcement this week. Are they getting at something?

I can't see it being past tbh, jump packs, exo-suits and lazer guns are very much "In" at the moment.

I'd be very very surprised if it was set in the past. I won't buy it if it is futuristic, won't be my cup of tea, might have to buy the new COD so I can get the MW maps again.

We will see if this bf game is not a reskin bfh...hopefully not.

I will be hoping to pickup the new pascal card so if it comes with bf5 and its not crap that will be happy days.

EDIT: Agree with those wanting WW2, Vietnam. BF nonsense also did a series called BF1982 which I thought was well thought out.

Oh I've no doubt it will look stunning but will the playability be there? Will it be good enough to keep people happy? Do some players expect 40 different weapon types, each with a dozen unlocks? If so, that's not going to happen in a WW2 game.

Naturally with every release since bf2 I was more and more disappointed.

So hardly played BF4.

However the fact there is (imo) absolutely nothing what so every out there to play anymore I've decided I'm jumping on the hype train to disappointment.

I am slightly holding out until the big release of info this weekend... Will make my final decision then tho, but either way....

Its become so dire I've bought a ps4 (pelted with rotten food)... So roll on the release.

They released WW2 with the DLC pack 2143 OMGGEEASYZ.

I'd be surprised if they released ww2 tho, as Activation have a futuristic concept which means someone has done some market research of 10 year olds. So wouldn't surprise me if DICE did the same.

i think most want a decent WW2 game but i think personally it will be 2142 ish future.

you have titanfall 2, infintewarfare modern future and i think bf will do that aswell.

i enjoyed bf4 got many hrs out of it.was fine for me from the launch one of the few who didnt have any issues. only reason i started to hate bf4 is because like every game they make. they seem to nerf break it more and more with each patch.

just leave it alone and make it work

if they have fixed collision in this game i may eat my shoes

I don;t know about you guys but if they just remade 2142 with updated graphics for todays machines and gave me back titan mode I could easily waster another 2000+ hours or so. Titan mode I loved it.

Never played 2142 as i honestly do not like the futuristic scene,Although this wouldn't be a bad idea..i wouldn't pay £45-60 for a re-skinned game so they would have to make it cheap.

BF:1942 was fun, and i think if they did a BF:Vietnam would be cool, then you could still use jets, choppers and modern guns, but leave the jet packs and lazer blasters for SW:Battlefront.

2142 was probably the best balanced BF game in a long time. The maps were great (loved Camp Gibraltar and the Berlin one) and very even too. I'm still disappointed we didn't see a single reimagined 2142 map in Bf3 or 4.
