I didnt play Battlefront so I cant make a fair comparison, plus I am absolutely loving the BF1 beta, but from what others say on here its very similar to Battlefront so you are probably better off using your gaming time to play something you will enjoy rather than BF1

Yep don't bother. I have Battlefront and this feels just like a skinned version of it, you just run around aimlessly get killed, spawn, kill etc etc.
There are also ****** snipers everywhere so as soon as you stick the end of your penis out it gets shot off and just like all other Battlefields it looks like you need to sink your entire existence into it to get the unlocks.
Bless DICE for the Beta though, they've saved me some cash with it.

Anyone know what the horses are made of? I'm no fancy big time scientist but I'd have thought half a clip into a horse would at least slow it down if not kill it, rather then "+30 horse damage"
They're genuinely harder to take down then a tank.
i have to say it was my last game i played last night, joined an rush server only to be killed every time i spawned even at main base it made no difference where i spawned in the end i was killed by one shot sniper kill even from one side of the map to the other. but only to find out that all the rest of the players was dice players they all had dice dog tags on them are they dice employee's ??? i don't know but it made my mine up to unistall the game

I'm pretty sure everyone has a dice dogtag cos you don't seem to be able to select one in the beta.
I've have some fun games so far, but the bug list is growing and growing... don't think it will be finished when released. Just going to get base game and see what happens by march with bugs and the amount of players.
Dice does not fill me with confidence after hardline and battlefront, since they all flopped on PC. There is load of things to fix or rework to me, and don't think a few months before release its all going to work. With all the community and pro youtubers you would think the beta would be pretty much boxed off and all working... but nope. BF4 beta had problems, but I don't remember that many big bugs that break the game. I played that beta for hours too.

I've not found it too hard to unlock most stuff in Battlefield games - there are some stupid assignments but mostly I can just hop on a 24x7 64 player high ticket CQB type map like lockers server and unlock all but the highest tier for a given weapon or the assignments for equipment in around 30 minutes.
When you have your very own hype/PR machine/program slating the gunplay then you know that EA/DICE have a problem on their hands
I don't know why there isn't more people slating it (other than maybe they can't envision how much better some things could be) for all the steps backwards it has taken even compared to BF4. It could have been a great game even with stuff like elites, etc. but so many of the mechanics are just pure garbage in the perspective of what they could have been.
People should be telling EA/Dice you can do a lot better than this.
I think the only reason that I am not slating it is because I find it great fun. If I didnt find it fun then I would likely be hammering it too, but the simple fact is that I am thoroughly enjoying it and having a great laugh. There hasnt been a single session yet where I have logged off and havent enjoyed the session.
Design decisions aside, performance aside, aesthetics aside, audio aside, gunplay mechanics aside etc etc, if I am having fun thats all that matters. I have played shooters (and other genres) which would be considered "better" than BF1 and havent had fun in them and thus havent wanted to play them and I have also played games which would be considered "worse" than BF1 yet had lots of fun in them.
Could I have more fun/enjoyment if DICE changed some stuff about BF1, well yes..quite possibly I could. Its equally possible that I may have less fun/enjoyment as a result of changes too of course. So all that is important to me, with any game, is am I having fun with it currently. The answer to that at the moment for BF1 and me, is Yes, and thats why I dont slate it.
People seem to be happy to just "adapt" to the changes, at least this is the word that I am seeing a lot of people using for all new mechanics but yeah we shouldn't have to adapt, if you don't like something, then don't accept it at all, it can easily be changed. This is why DICE give us CTE for BF 4 so that we could try various things out and put community ideas to the test.
As flash said said last night with them inviting/paying all those celebrities to attend the live events and going by how they played to just having a look of not wanting to be there at all, we should have known that they were going to drop the skill ceiling drastically. Who knows, maybe that was there marketing ploy to get the majority of casual players to pre-order and come final release, they will release a patch within the week to address all the gunplay, hold x to repair, elites etc. etc.

I can't see myself buying this at any price unless it changes considerably - but with no man's sky for instance there is a lot I don't like about the game but I'd still have bought it (if I hadn't already) at a much lower price just to dabble with some elements of it. I guess that is kind of what people really mean.
There is a lot of truth in the fun aspect though - there are some games that are hilariously broken but fun to play and other games that have insanely well thought out mechanics, etc. that are just meh to actually play.
