*** Battlefield 1 ***

worthabuy ripped this to bits.

He also ripped doom to bits based on the early levels when you have a lot of the weaker zombies to fight against.

A lot of his videos lately just have him bitching about "pew pew pew pew" like this is somehow unexpected in shooters (the hint of what to expect in a shooter is in the name last i looked). You would think he would know better as he was allegedly a very good quake player, have to say it doesn't show to any extent in vids of him playing shooters.

I've only played a few rounds but its been really fun, i have little to no idea what is going on. I dont have a clue where im been shot from or how to kill the tanks and planes that keep killing me but im just crawling around with my little sniper picking people off from miles away.

I even captured a couple of bases earlier, albiet that was mainly by accident. :)

The last battle field i played for more than 5 mins and actually enjoyed it was b4 1942 so i guess this is probably the closest to that and why i enjoy it.

I actually had some genuine fun tonight by using the mounted anti tank rockets at D and sniping people across the map with them, incredibly satisfying when it is a sniper too :D

That big cannon on the train seems to be pretty random to use, the one where you get an aerial view of the shell travelling to its target. Reminds me vaguely of the artillery in bf1942 which was very hard to get hits with as well.

From what I've seen of his videos he seems to rip everything to bits. Some with good cause but seems that some I've watched seem almost to be just for the sake of it

This. Some people like the angry joe reviews just rip things unnecessarily and quite pathetically as in most cases you can tell they have not even touched the product/game and are just projecting what they think it will be like.

Despite it not being a map of my taste and not a game mode ( i like infy only, played it exclusively on every other bf ) so vehicles don't do it for me really. Ive really enjoyed my time so far on Bf1 and will continue to play it :).

Worthabuy has raised a smile once or twice in the past but in all honesty he gets far too much wrong or has little idea what he is doing in some games. If ripping a game gets him some views and a few quid from adverts then so be it, that said he wouldn't who I'd go to for info.

I've pre-ordered it today, as an ardent fan of 1942, Desert Combat and BF2 tbh I found both BF3 and 4 tedious and boring, this I'm enjoying greatly and can't wait for release date.

My gaming mates play BF4 every Saturday night without fail and I rarely could be bothered to join them (unlike the 1942/DC/BF2 days when I was with them religiously) tonight though we've all played together on the BF1 beta and are agreed this is the replacement for BF4 we've been hoping for (we all bought Battlefront, like it for the Star wars aspect but that's it)

The beta is getting a lot of flak from some who seem unable to see past its just that, an unfinished beta, whilst of course the release may prove cack, I don't think it will.

High hopes!

I've played a few rounds now and reckon I'll be getting this, though not pre-order (burned with BF3 and BF4). Probably best to wait a few days then jump in.

The map isn't great, I hope it isn't the best one they are showing..

Spawn, get shot by a sniper. Spawn, get shot by a tank. Spawn, killed by debris. All in a matter of seconds. Most frustrating gaming experience ever.

If you haven't learned to pick a safe spawn after the first couple of deaths then it's on you, not the game :p

I feel Battlefield is moving further and further away from what the franchise was originally.

The gameplay has now been distilled down to "constant action". Gone are the lows - The long drives to the flags, the runway strafing, the hiding from vehicles you have no way to kill.

And with them so have some of the most memorable highs - The times outnumbered you held the flag for minutes whilst your buddy's re-spawned and travelled back. The times you ran the gauntlet of AA and enemy fire to get your plane airborne allowing you to counter the enemy vehicles and your team to push back. The times you radioed in and waited holding that flag contested long enough for your air power or AT to arrive.

looking at the number of people talking about overpowered snipers/tanks, I feel we have little chance of ever getting the slow tactical rock-paper-scissors gameplay of old back, it just doesn't seem to be what people want anymore.

Lol you can pick where you spawn?

I was getting spawn camped by a tank and i was thinking i wish i could spawn somewhere else or i wish i had more than one grenade as i couldnt destroy it with one. He was useless aswell i could walk right up to the tank and jump on it and he doesnt see me, i just couldnt drag him out like i would in gta :)

All i do is hit deploy and head towards the nearest unfriendly node with my sniper trying to pick people off lol. Might not be very useful but its fun.

Funny you should say that, I did exactly this yesterday, crouching behind crates at the E flag, in the middle of the desert , I was a medic and there was an enemy tank. There was nothing I could do about him, all I could do was hide and hold the flag contested long enough for reinforcements to arrive. Took quite a while as the E flag is so far out of course.

Also, tanks are not OP, I'm convinced of that as I destroyed 12 vehicles in 1 round when I focused on doing so. The reason people say they are is because they dont bother to use the tools to destroy them (the cannons, AT rocket guns etc) , the very rock, paper, scissors that you refer to. Snipers are indeed a little OP in beta I will agree, but then perhaps thats in part due to the map. Even BF1942 had maps that favoured sniping.

Yup, on the deploy screen you can pick to spawn at any Circle owned flag, or your start base , or any member of your squad who isnt in combat, or even some vehicles of your team (if the vehicle has a circle on it on the deploy screen)

Oh please. He has playlists of games he thumbs up and one for the thumbs down. Thumbs up has more.

He has yes, but he gave thumbs down to Wolfenstein New Order, Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Soma and Dying Light. All games that I greatly enjoyed, so from a personal viewpoint, his tastes and mine are clearly very different, so not a great surprise to me that BF1 is another game that I like and he doesnt.
