*** Battlefield 1 ***

Well put a few hours into it and I got to say for the first time in the BF series I think I am going to wait. My two biggest issues are the spawn killing (which I am sure they will Iron out,) and the size of the maps.

The scale of the maps is just too big. I spend a lot of time running in sand from A to B and not a lot else. Either they need to make the scale smaller for more infantry combat or make the maps 128 v 128 which sadly will never happen

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

HAHAAHAHHAHAHAA the weather in this game is client side

WTF

http://gfycat.com/CooperativeWigglyAmericanblackvulture how can u even comprehend buying this ****!

What I would want to know is are there any other videos of this? Has anybody else replicated this, or are we basing the entire supposition that weather is client side from just the 1 video? I know that us gamers are a gullible bunch who simply accept everything we read on the net but I'm sure we would all want to see more evidence than just the 1 video as proof of something. There are enough of us on this forum alone that we could VERY easily replicate this and see if the weather is client side or not

Before this beta came out I was no way on earth gonna get this. Then a few mates said they installed the beta and it was only 7gb so i tried it and......loving it!
As with any BF game, most fun can only be had when you squad up with mates I think. So much easier to direct fire, take objectives etc. I have had no issue with spawn camping and played about 10 hours so far. Tanks can be taken down without to much issue, you just have to work together and use the tools at hand. The fights at objective C are ace. Not tried flying much yet but will deffo reconsider and may get this sometime. Not gonna pre-order based on this, will wait til a couple of weeks after release to see what reviews/peoples opinions are

TBF, I reckon it is just a bug as this is the first I have seen anyone mention that, let alone post a video of it and there have been times when playing with people on here on discord where they have commented about the storm/weather at the same time.

For the record, the missus and I play sat side by side on BF1 and our screens have always shown the same thing at the same time. So personally this video is either one hacked client and one non-hacked client, or its a video taken during the server issues they had (similar to the server issues causing things like loadouts to go to defaults for some people instead of their selected weapons).

Of course, that doesnt help those people who are using the video as evidence for their own agenda. I've never seen anything like that happen when my missus and I play together but as I say, there are dozens and dozens of us on here so it really shouldnt be a very difficult thing to prove or disprove for us.

Saw 8 people get banned in a single round... Have these people nothing better to do? Or they're bots testing the FairFight system?

Either way, surely you should have your Origin account blocked if you're caught cheating

Not seen it myself, if anything when the sandstorm happens all you see people typing is "i can't see" in the chat. Probably a 1 off.

Thats certainly the standpoint I would take if I was in charge, I'd ban the Origin account straight away. Really cannot understand why anyone cheats in any game, defeats the whole point of playing it imo.

One thing I have noticed it that during the past week I saw very few Fairfight kicks at all but since Friday I see half a dozen in every round. Sad really but thats some people for you.

People don't get it, bf when it started wasn't considered arcadey and floaty and easy for casuals it was pushing boundaries of what is possible.

Feels like dice have been treading water since bad company 2 and just regurgitating the same games.

Hopefully the next game will be more leaning towards sim.

Agreed has to be a bug group of 5 of us been playing quite regularly and we've all had the sandstorm at the same time every time it's occurred.

I had a few instances where people were killing me through the sandstorm stuff like they had good visibility but not enough to rule out just coincidence and/or that they were potentially using cheats and there are certainly already cheats for the beta.

Played a couple of hours now on PC, cant say very i'm impressed, I cant put my finger on why but i'm just not really having fun with it, feel like i'm just playing it just because its BF? I dunno...
Far too early to write off the game based on experience of one map in Beta, but going off of what i have experienced so far i can say i will most likely not buy it for PC, I'll likely buy for XBoxOne only, purely because most of my mates have an XBox and this will be what most of them play for the next few months, i'm sure i'll enjoy it especially when squaded up but its not the sort of game i'll buy multi platform, or spent much time solo-ing, hopefully the launch of the full game will prove more enjoyable.

To be fair, BF1942 was pretty arcadey and floaty, especially those Tiger tanks which used to bounce about like they were on helium filled tracks :D

I dont mind the next one leaning more towards sim though, as long as its fun and preferably not modern warfare. As long as I find it fun though I would get it, if it becomes too sim like though, like Arma or Flashpoint then I wouldnt buy it because I simply do not find that sort of game fun.

I was on the fence for a while but think I'm going to give release day a miss, forcing myself to play it because its a BF game but I'm not enjoying it, sick of being killed by a sniper from the edge of the map and absolutely no team work what so ever plus many more annoyances

I'll wait for reviews and watch this thread to see if things improve/change for the better but for now I'm in the BF Series has lost its way camp

How dare you

Desert Combat Mod was where it was at. A fantastic squad based game on grand scale maps.

(Tanks were bouncy mind)
