*** Battlefield 2042 (Console) ***

It came to PS Plus this month and the amount of new players playing is great! I've been playing a bit of crossplay off on my PS5 with a few friends today and I'd say half of the people in the lobby are all under level 10!

It's a great time to get into the game, it's in a really fun spot right now and the latest season has added a nice map. Hopefully everyone sticks around with it.

Going to download at weekend and jump on, not played it for over a year. Fed up with the new COD, its pants.

Yeah, I'm finding that I just end up frustrated after playing COD. I still enjoy it at times - but definitely find that I enjoy it more when I only play it once a week or so...
 
Downloaded this it’s actually really active right now on PlayStation and it’s actually quite enjoyable game now wasn’t at the start…..


You do need to mess with some settings as it feels off once I found a setting video on YouTube with all the camera shake and motion blur settings turned off and aiming tunings feels really good smooth.

I've been playing with a few friends who have picked it up because it's free on PS Plus and we're all really enjoying it!

In fairness, I've played it quite a bit since it launched and still enjoyed it despite the issues - but it's really great to see people coming back to the game or experiencing it for the first time and really enjoying it. I've played a few rounds of Conquest with a colleague from work who just kept saying "lets play one more then" all night long... Always a good/worrying sign when then that happens.

I definitely think you're right about adjusting settings, it takes a little while to dial it into your preference but once you've got it sorted it feels really great.

Worth switching off camera shake, motion blur, vignette etc.

Then crossplay can be turned off too as the playerbase on PlayStation is really strong currently - unless you fancy playing with others! I tend to switch it on and off depending on who I'm playing with.

In terms controller settings, I just swapped to 'alternate' so I can crouch with R3 and then I swapped my grenade to up on the d-pad with specialist gadget on L1.

He came with last season's battle pass (free to unlock) so that usually means there's a challenge to unlock him if you didn't get him during last season.

When you hover him, what does it say next to the lock? Usually that's where it will have the challenge (i.e. 100 kills with assault rifles, 50 assists as assault class)

Thanks. Yeah had to get 30 hip fire kills and 750 damage with a under barrel launcher.

2x XP event this weekend.
 
I pitty the poor folks who paid full price for this when it was released - feels almost nothing like Battlefield, it's like COD with bigger maps, and just feels gimmicky too - just had a tornado pop up mid game for.... reasons I guess. And the maps are just too large and dull, not to mention that even after all this time there's bugs - empty choppers and other vehicles just hanging in the air.
 
The influx of PS players has been brilliant - but my god, I've never been ignored by medics more than I have this weekend.

I was in a squad with 3 players, all under level 10, all playing medic. I ended the game with more revives than them and I'm playing as a Recon... This one really took the cake, it was like they were actively doing it too!
