How when Battlelog is not online until the 25th?

Hmm, it will be illogical for ea not to put up battlelog on the 24th since the Koreans get it early, I will try to login into battlelog with the Korean VPN and see how things will work out. If not I guess I have to wait for the 25 =/

I'm playing on a slightly lower resolution with a 5850, 4Gb RAM and an AMD 955 @ 3.2Ghz, and I was able to play the beta on ULTRA with at least 30fps, high got me about 40-45. Easily playable, and very nice to look at.

Thats nonsense, or not the card which was your problem so completely irrelevent point of reference.
I managed 48-52fps on medium, no AA etc, at 2048x1152 using a 5770 and a Q6600 at 3ghz, so apparently my inferior card can get 25% better frames on similar resolution

5850 & i7 will be fine for medium, certainly sufficient till the next gen of cards come out or theres budget for the upgrade. If you want more than medium or a framerate closer to 60fps, you'll have to upgrade or make some compromises.

Koreans don't get it early. You have just forgotten to change your timezone to korean time while using the vpn.

I'm still 50:50 of whether to upgrade or not

thing is I'dlove a new toy to play with but I have a feeling my current system will cope with BF3 just fine anyway - but love to have an excuse

I'd wait and see how it performs at release first. On a C2D that was OC'd to 3.5 at the time of the beta, 4GB Ram and a GTX460 1GB @ 840Mhz it was averaging around 35-45 FPS (had a fair few dips below that on caspian map though) at high settings and 1920x1080. I imagine you'll get a little better and hopefully should perform even better with the optimised retail client and new Nvidia drivers that are due tomorrow.

Ive seen a few releases floating around on the net? Have people been downloading these then entering the key when their copies arrive on friday to save install time?

release date 24th october? I thought it was 28th

i played at every setting on the same card at 1920x1080 on ultra i had 30fps my [email protected]

so if u think 30 fps is fine for fps games then fine i dont . a 5850 isnt recommended for a reason its not powerful enough simple.

recommended spec which is for 1920 is a ati 6950 or 560 ti

If it unlocks at 16:00 Korean time, they are +9 ahead so 16-9=7 so it will unlock at 07:00am UK time surely?
