Oops, misread him saying ATi/AMD as ATi/NV for some reason!

Well for Ultra, then CF 6970's or 6990.

A single 6950/6970 will be fine for High going by what DICE said in that presentation. They recommended a 560Ti, which is pretty similar to the 6950.

Yeah I'd agree with 6950 as long as they get the 2GB of memory version instead of the 1GB, for around £200 if you're on a tight budget this is the cheapest and best option for most people.

This one looks good to me = http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-254-AS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

Im hoping ultra will be possible with the top end 7000 series ATI when it comes out sometime this year. Im sure my 5970 will play the game at high and pretty good fps, but im a graphics whore i want the settings at ultra and 60fps minimum:p:D

he asked if his 5850 was good enough for ultra settings

umm....no he didn't, he asked how it would perform in general. You told him low settings, which was total bs. You're the only person who has mentioned ultra.

You also point out that they say recommended card for high is 560ti. I don't suppose you're aware that in BC2 the difference between a 5850 and 560ti at 1920x1200 x4aa was 8fps...yet you're saying that having a 560ti instead of a 5850 in BF3 will mean the difference between being able to play on high, or having to play at low at 1920x1080 - a lower resolution.

...or we could just look at the BF3 Alpha benchmarks you were whining about before that show the difference between the two cards is a whopping 6fps

I think a lot of people are gonna be surprised how much this engine scales and how much more optimized it was compared to beta!

Allow me the pleasure....

Can anyone tell me what I can expect it to run like on my PC?

1920 x 1200 res

i7 920 @ 4Ghz
6Gb RAM
ATi 5850 1Gb

Should I be looking for a new Gfx card?

just upgraded from similar card to 6950 youll get around 30-40 fps max and thats with low settings. you need to drop res to 1680 or buy new card .

not being funny people are saying with ati 5770 there playing at 1920 res and getting 60 fps  lol

not even gunna argue anymore getting very silly your cards have been benchmarked by nvidia and ati to death not by general people. the benchmarks are posted or there to find.

recommended is 6950 2gb or nvidia 560 ti 2gb or over

those with less will struggle to play the game as it should be simple.

as for guy on a about a 580 gtx what the hell  if you look a guy was asking about whether his 5850 could run at 1920 res on ultra it cant simple as and maintain constant decent fps. no one mentioned a nvidia 580gtx

He didn't even mention ultra anywhere.

Incidently, just to clear up 1 quick lie in the above quote, i quite clearly stated my 5770 was doing 48-52 fps in Medium, i also stated it was at 2048x1152, so basically you've got sod all correct. Your just making everything up as you go along, and as soon as someone provides any proof you backtrack and then change to a different completely fictional story/lie.

NOBODY mentioned it being Ultra, YOU were the one harping on about it having to be Ultra, and despite the fact that Tombo has already told you once that isnt the case, your still reverting back to the same pathetic lies when your 'Benchmarks show im right' rubbish is proven to be such.

DG - Sod off from this thread, your boring trolling, lies, and general cluelessness are getting pathetic. Either that, or just shut the hell up, your not remotely helpful, you just spread misinformation and attempt to cover it up with more lies. Grow up.

aargh - stupid system- just redeemed my GG code - and it worked fine

but then no games showing up in Origin/EA ?!!

if I try and re-use code it says already used - any ideas?

Hear hear (although you should probably edit that last line to avoid getting a suspension, even though I agree with you)

please refrain from using silly language if you want to debate do it but dont get personal ;)

the simple fact is argue all you want no troll just stating the recommended spec for bf3 at 1920x1080 is a ati 6950 2gb and a nvidia 560 ti 2gb !

argue whatever call me what ever that is the recommended spec how hard is it to understand hate me call me silly names nvidia nad ati have done the benchmarks the card is not good enough end of story .

a ati 5850 is not as fast as any of the above there for its not recommended for that very reason. also it doesnt have enough vram either ;)

so its all a load who haar for nothing.

if you want to play the game at 1920x1080 or above properly buy recommended card or above you dont buy below would you

oh look, more fabricated rubbish!

Recommended system requirements for Battlefield 3

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.
Graphics card memory: 1 GB
Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Clearly states, 1GB vram, did you just decide to change that to 2GB to coincide with your rubbish? like you claimed I decided to fabircate my fps earlier? So if the difference between a 5850 and 560ti is 6fps, and they're recommending 1GB vram for playing on high settings, then I think the 5850 is more than capable. What bs line are you getting ready to come out with next>?

no bs  you few are getting shirty about a card that isnt made for what you trying to play. cant believe your trying to say it is when its blatently obious it isnt.

people have got crossfired 5850s and they are noticing the vram lag spikes and your on about 1 card at that res with decent settings on. ill leave you to debate it .
