The Standard on Matt's server is through the roof!! I was playing on their and a friend joined me while we were chatting on skype. I told him playing on this server might not be your best introduction to BF3 multiplayer and 5 minutes later (after many deaths) he lost his patience and quit. Need to find some noob servers for an easier introduction.

To be honest with the game having been out this long you won't find that sort of experience

Even the servers that are advertised as noob servers, just attract those looking for easy kills.

At the end of the day, you'll get better by learning, and who better to learn from than by playing with skilled people in your squad

This tbh.

Please don't, that's our job

The only thing you should worry about is whether you've enjoyed yourself, I'm always C4 jeeping on caspian, I normally get 2 - 3 apc's or tanks but come away with 7 kills to 14 deaths. However it's SOOOOO much fun who care's what m K/D is.....not I.

Haha Ok, I'll leave the criticism for you gents, bt yes your correct, I do still enjoy it, even if I am sat on the base in an AA turret taking pot shots at enemy jets/helis.

I just get a tad frustrated with my aiming and shooting - I guess some of that will be improved with foregrip/silencers but most of all, practice.

It can be frustrating, but when I manage something approaching a midtable result I actually feel quite happy with that, knowing that the standard is so high :)

Got a new mouse to play this with, amazing how much a difference there was to aiming etc from using my rubbish old one in the BF3 beta. Still not snapping to heads etc, but mostly aiming fast enough to centre mass. And of course, ramping up the DPI when i get into a turret always helps!

Why for the love of god do you play it on hardcore mode!! It's the one thing stopping me from regularly playing on it..

Are there other regularly active OCUK servers offering softcore mode games??

I started a few weeks ago and have the same problem - except i'm worse than you ;). There are a few servers with 'soft' level limits - they rely on either a vote or an admin to kick people who are overrank. =SASS= run two that have a L23 limit (search for '=SASS=' in the server filter and you'll find them), there are a few others as well (search for 'noob' and have a look through the list).

I've found metro rush to be quite good, but you do need to learn the map and routes that people normally take, then try to out-think them (I'm still learning). Metro conquest can be good fun if you just want to spam bullets at people - it generally turns into a grenade-fest around the B-flag, especially on 64-player servers. You can also rack up a lot of points just by throwing down a medkit or ammo pack near groups of your own guys (you should be doing this all the time anyway though - nothing worse than being nearly out of ammo and a supply guy runs past firing an MG from the hip like rambo and gets shot in the face just round the corner).

Now if only I could work out how to stop dying so much...

I tried my hand at sniping which I am on games like Halo, since even on Metro people were sniping the hell out of me. Much better already but still need to get used to the bullet drop and aim (the Razer Naga is very sensitive).

Been playing a few games on LtMatt's server recently, really liking it. There's a nice atmosphere and everybody is really good ha. I'm LoomyUK in game by the way. Should also put out a quick apology for tk'ing a few people on there when I was spamming rockets to get the assignment. Sorry :o :p.

I'll be on from about 6pm tonight if you wanna jump on Matt's. JGstonedRaider is the name on Battlelog.

Have you got teamspeak. Is a tiny program to download. Even if you don't have a mic (but play audio through your headphones) it's well worth jumping on for the banter and "tactics"

For me the attachments make a huge difference. I have a very run and gun play style meaning a lot of my 1 v 1s close quarters where it's better to use full auto.

Foregrip + Holographic sight + Silencer / Flash suppressor is my fave combo for the assault rifles. This load out transformed my ability to kill. I particularly hate the ACOG scope for up close stuff

Kinda loving Ironsights (No not Famas / An94) atm, really quick aiming!

Silencer is a must for "getting in there" or behind the lines, still haven't used flash supressor
