you can pay month to month . also i understand how donations work . often the first few months will be higher as people doing it will feel oblidged or interested more. slowly as time goes on it will decrease.

the point was that 96 in a few days is more than twice what is needed. after a month it could be 200 plus which could run 7 servers ! not one per month.

others on here run busier or as busy servers im just on about everyone getting a slice of the action if they run servers and are used by all. what extra has been donated to that server could have paid for others servers on here.

im all for covering costs for keeping it running just not profitting from it.

Worst case scenario would be Matt receives £300 worth of donations, the server costs £40 a month.. That's seven and a half months worth of costs paid for, whats to stop him cancelling his contract and doing a runner after the 1st month?

I am NOT saying that this is the case but simply saying this would be the worst case scenario!

Once I get paid I'll happily contribute a few quid towards the server as it's by far the best I've been on so this is in no way an anti Matt post :) He's doing a great job and I hope it continues for a long time!

On the other hand, if he splashes out on another 3 servers and the donations stop, then he's going to be up poop creek!

I don't plan on doing a runner made some great friends out of this and i just dont plan on upping sticks and leaving the internet, thats just not my style. My battlefield server is here until battlefield 4/battlefield 1945. Then ill just start a new one for that game.

I'm surprised that the donations have ruffled so many feathers. Its pretty clear, nothing is hidden i dont know what more people expect.

I have a donations target for the month. You can see when that target has been reached. I dont see the problem.

I haven't ruled out expanding, but i dont want to buy more servers then for donations to drop in the following month. As it stands donations have been £61, the total cost per month is £40. £21 in credit which will just go towards next months bill.

I think i will lose the OCUK tags i dont want all of this getting in the way of what i originally intended. A group of guys playing bf3 together who enjoy each others company with no hassle.

*I should clarify, sold ram to Richie Simms a couple of days back for £35. He paid using the donations and said i could have £5 towards server costs.*

hopefully you understand what im on about.

loosing the ocuk tags hmmm.... gamble tbh

a lot who come onto your server will see others with the tag and know there from the same community . that is the main reason i go on your server. i dont actually like hc or conquest but i go on cause i know others from here will be on :p

anyway time to shoot stuff goto unlock another auto sniper :(

I dont want to lose the tags but i dont want to create a problem if my players choose to donate generously to my server, and what with me having the OCUK tag and then for others to complain and say everyone needs a slice of the cake. Ya dig?

Anyway id prefer to keep the tags of course but i dont want it to create a problem with OCUK or other server admins here.

24/7 metro? That sounds like sex on a stick tbh. Bitches love metro, and me ballistix boyo are bitches allright.

If a bf3 1945 version came out id switch my server to that. ( i live in hope. :p)

Matt has payed for this server out of his own pocket and made it a succes.
When he made a forum I jumped in and told him if he needed help whatsoever he should ask.
He kindly made use of this and i setted up this awesome new forum which looks great if i may say so. I told him that u can set up a donations system cause quite frankly I dont mind helping out sharing the cost for this server and website because it's the only server I play on.

I explained the extra $8 for the the forums even in the donationinfo.

People dont have to donate, but the ones that did so far are the regulars that apreciate Matt's effort.

I find it quite low to attack him on this, and even accusing him of doing a runner.

what you need to realize is there are many clans and people on this very forums who have 1 or more busy or busier server than matts.

why should he get donations and them not ?

im not saying he shouldnt i am just saying there are others and making it a bit fairer for all ocuk members players who pay out of there own pocket ;)

this is a very big forum what is hard to understand about it ?

for eg matts server costs 30 quid a month .

12 months = 360

donations made 96 quid few days from ocuk members could be 200 by end of month (they run for a month )

12 x 200 2400 quid ! :eek:

nice little profit whether server is full busy or friendly.

no one has anything against matt and all hope he does well but like said the server costs website and so on for costs covered fair enough . donations which arnt needed after that is profit which isnt right. especially when others do the same on here.

if its going to cause so much friction delete the lot and do whatever. cant get why its so hard to see what im on about.

Nothing i can do about it though, you'll need to ask all the people who donate to my server to donate to all the other OCUK friendly servers as well.

Hm not sure why q minority would start vocalizing an issue like this...its an opt in system of voluntary payment not pay to play or vice versa.

I quite like metro. It means I don't have to deal with chopters or tanks etc. Its a pure situational shoot your way out of this with added RPG and m320 spammability.

I never played bf1942:( I liked cod waw though. Got to love big pimping fj42 and mp40. With the odd bouncing Betty for additional goodness.

Dg I don't want my own server I don't have the time to manage it.
 
Honestly some people will just moan about absolutely anything, as this thread shows.

Matt just ignore them if you make £1000 out the server I couldn't give a dam, nor should others really not when your offering us all a service and donations are not mandatory. Up to now you have been giving us all your time and paying for the server every month out your own pocket. Fair play if you make a few beers out of all your hard work.

I just don't get the other peoples points, actually they don't have a point.
They are either attacking you through jealousy or they really do have nothing better to do with there time.

(lets all be honest if you read this thread often there a certain few who will moan and moan about stuff till there blue in the face.)
