Honestly some people will just moan about absolutely anything, as this thread shows.

Matt just ignore them if you make £1000 out the server I couldn't give a dam, nor should others really not when your offering us all a service and donations are not mandatory. Up to now you have been giving us all your time and paying for the server every month out your own pocket. Fair play if you make a few beers out of all your hard work.

I just don't get the other peoples points, actually they don't have a point.
They are either attacking you through jealousy or they really do have nothing better to do with there time.

(lets all be honest if you read this thread often there a certain few who will moan and moan about stuff till there blue in the face.)

Then you read posts like this and remember what its all about.

People are free to play where they want and donate to who they want, if they feel the urge to donate to Matt's server then obviously they are enjoying the experience on his server. They can donate what they want and if he makes some extra cash out of it then it's all good. Only those that are jelly would have a problem with this.:p

calm down....

what you need to realize is there are many clans and people on this very forums who have 1 or more busy or busier server than matts.

why should he get donations and them not ?

donations made 96 quid few days from ocuk members could be 200 by end of month (they run for a month )

12 x 200 2400 quid !

nice little profit whether server is full busy or friendly. .

I don't understand. People aren't being held at gunpoint forced to donate and then only pic ltmatts due to ocuk tags...

People can make their own mind up. There might be a million servers more popular or whatever. How does that influence people donating to matt or not? It kinda goes like this: donate if you want. Don't if you don't. If his server I'd that popular that it gets many donations good for him. Clearly he is doing something right.

frankly you can pay to whom you want. We can all make decisions ourselves. If the donation pot is more than the server pot - then you can choose to not currently donate.

Nice, I was using ACOG which is probably why I got pwnd at close range.

I always get pwned using the Acog up close. Against players with quick reactions i lose almost every 1on1.

But for all my moaning about it i always end up using it again for just those few instances where it pays off.

ballistix nobodys got any problem with donating for the cost / cover of the servers . profitting from donations is a different matter though.

with the size of ocuk it can if enough donate be a decent amount . matts server popularity has come from ocuk . so basically profitting form ocuk success.

thats it from me on the matter .

will stick to bf3 .

I didn't accuse him of doing a runner

I just said it would be worst case scenario.

God some people on here really do take things way out of proportion and everyone is jumping on the "omg you seriouz?" bandwagon.

Oh and keep the OcUK tags :)

I know what you meant James. :)

I'll keep the tags so long as it doesnt cause problems with OCUK or anyone else.

Wouldn't cause any issues I would have thought? It's there purely to show that it's a server run by an OcUK user, where other OcUK users can congregate and have some excellent games against each other.

It's nothing to do with your KDR or score per minute.

The game keeps track of yours and everybody else's skill rating. Kill somebody with a lower skill than you and you won't gain any skill.

Get killed by somebody with a lower skill than you and you lose skill rating. Kill somebody with a higher skill and you gain skill.

It's based on every encounter you have with other players

As for good, 500 appears to be good, 1000 is insane and higher than that usually means they are hacking or never die because they just road kill with the MAV every game and sit in the uncap all game

Thanks for the info. I still don't like it though, because it's still not taking into account the skill it takes to cap or plant, or even to revive or spot or whatever. Also, just based on the anecdotal evidence of my 10-strong friends list, I would say 500 is excellent. No one on my list is even above 450 and I've got at least a handful of really good players on there.

On the issue of Matt's server, I think this is a lot of fuss over nothing. It's not accurate to say he's getting so many donations just because of the OCUK name, because there are several other OCUK servers which are not nearly as good and which are not getting anywhere near the same amount in donations. Definitely keep the OCUK in the title, Matt, because it's a convenient way for people from the forums to track people in Battlelog and game with like-minded people. I think the server's popularity is more down to the fact that it's well-modded, has a sensible set of rules, and runs good maps.

You've done everything straight down the line with regards the donations. It's always important to put up your goal and how much you've received to date, plus who donated (i.e. so everyone can see that their donation is properly counted) and you've done both of these things, so I don't see any kind of issue whatsoever.

*I should clarify, sold ram to Richie Simms a couple of days back for £35. He paid using the donations and said i could have £5 towards server costs.*

With hindsight this was not the most transparent way of dealing with the ram sale,it just seemed like the easiest way at the time.Sorry for the confusion it caused.
