are you using msaa ingame aswell ?

if so thats why you get no fps boost

the post above i linked the version i used.

ingame i tried with msaa x4 on ultra and without

with it was 44 fps in one section without it was 60 fps .

I have everything on low and turned off :o

Do you mean that in bc2that black wasn't black and when opponents were in a black background you'd still be able to make out their outline due to slight variations in the gradient. But now in bf3 black is black and opponents in darkness don't show up by contrasting themselves again the darkness of their background?

that's what i noticed anyway.

Did i search for a hack to fix this, or accept that this is what ea/dice intended. I.e better levels of realism where bad guys blend into the background - not stick out like they do in previous gen games.

Of course you can just hack your game or you could live with it like everyone else?

Whoever posted the stupid gif. Don't waste my time. Your point is doa if you can't determine between the speed that something is rendered at and a rendering method that significantly changes the output of what is being rendered.

I don't see what your problem is with this stuff?

As said, what people can just do then is go and setup a profile in nvidia or ATI control panel or for their monitor purely for BF 3 and get the same results, so would that be ok then?

The game is far too dark, dull and greyish tone to it. To the point that it isn't realistic (granted more realistic than BC 2) along with the stupid flash lights that are brighter than the sun and can blind an entire team without even looking near the mini super nova.

As for the way DICE intended to play the game, well no thanks otherwise we would all still be moaning about the AA being way too over powered, certain guns being far too overpowered (granted there still are some left) and all the other things, which will be fixed in the next patch if it weren't for the community creating an up roar everywhere about the game etc.

This mod is no worse than the orange triangles above peoples head in normal core, which I define as a wall hack.

I want to play a game where I can actually see people at medium distance without straining my eyes and a game that actually looks nice with proper colours, none of this dull gloom look. If I want a complete realistic game, then I would play ARMA.

Oh and I am at a big disadvantage already anyway, as said above, even with everything on low, my 4850 still struggles and I am lucky if my average FPS is 30 half the time.

However, my stats aren't exactly terrible (with about 70 hours of gameplay) and are pretty good considering this.

Anyway I am off to try this "hack" out ;)

Exactly the same results with no downsides? Can you prove that, serious question.

Why would I need to prove it, surely you can load up Battlefield 3, whack the gamma up on your monitor and see for yourself?

I'd imagine the only downside would be everything would be rather bright. If you could handle that then there you go, you've got an advantage over someone who can't see anything in a black room.

I really can't see where this argument of yours is coming from, the injector does nothing (apart from some technical stuff I have no idea about) but alter the in-game colours to give it a more realistic look. You can get a similar result by adjusting the colours for BF3 in a Nvidia or ATI profile. Hell even monitors are doing it now, the BenQ 120Hz ones for example.

If the injector included invisible walls, bright pink skins for enemy players or neon arrows above players heads then I'd understand where you were coming from.

Ironically a lot of people think BF3 is too bright with the sun and wish it could be toned down :p Me included.

I know and the 512MB VRAM makes things even worse :(

First game that it has ever truly struggled with even on low settings :o

Been holding out on a new card for the last few months as;

1. Don't play BF 3 much due to all the problems and broken things in the game (and the GOD DAMN MAV GLITCHERS!!!!! :p), which should hopefully be fixed in the next patch

2. New cards coming out, mainly waiting for the 78xx series and hoping that the 560TI 2GB will then drop a fair bit :p

cards wont drop theyll be same price until gone or only go down small bit.

ati 7800 series will just be sme prices as 69 range as they just basically replace the 6950 and 70

Going to grab me another 460 in a month or two....yes its an old card but in SLi still holds its own against the big boys........

Especially when OC'd. 850 core 2200 memory.

Plus in my quest for FPS i'm running on low/medium with mesh at high or ultra (can't remember) which gives me 45-60 fps (usually nearer 60)

Right decided to put some life back into Bronken-Gaming as it pretty much died a few months after the game was released, which was strange as the 64 man server tended to stay full most of the time

Had a look around and decided on a 48 player Hardcore Conquest with 150% tickets, 1 player start. Map rotation is 1 round per map and as follows:-

Seine
Firestorm
Bazaar
Caspian
Noshahar

Decided Metro was too small for 48 players and BK2 wasn't really worth it. There aren't many vanilla hardcore 48 player servers out there so thought I'd sneak it into that spec.

Add it to your favourites, tell your friends, etc, etc

I've also cracked open a website too which can be found at www.bronken.co.uk which is a work in progress.

Have a gander and see what you think.

Ok, I have installed the V1.3 beta performance mod, do I need to do anything else? Is that it?

Tried a game on wake island quickly and it does seem different, performance seems better for me, been so long since I played though so can't really remember what it was like before :p
