your the hero that gotham needs

+1

whats the best way to set up teamspeak between a small group of friends?

we usually dabble on multiple servers through the evening

are we gonna need to use one of us a TS server? or can we use a public server and make a private room somewhere?

:)

Well I can't help you exactly as you have asked, but jump into our forum (cq247.co.uk, see no hotlink) and say hi.

We run a server with a TS channel. Which I believe we now have more room in. If you wana make a seperate room, fine. But I'm sure you'll enjoy our banter in the main room.

Could it be any easier for derp jav users? I mean lock n fire, what's hard about that. Can see it now, 4-5 soflams down with noobs spamming javs turning the armor/air vehicle combat to ****. Beepbeepbeepbeepbeep, so much fun.

I have come to the conclusion that Jet's suck sooo bad atm in hardcore. Sooooooo boring...and that damn beeping the moment someone so much as farts on your Jet....

Now we'll even more of those lock beeps as well....well that's that. Goodbye Jet's! :(

The whole game is just so unbalanced and complicated regarding unlocks, vehicle damage, ground troops, guns, just everything really.

That is what I loved about BC 2, things were kept simple, none of this bull xxxx of vehicle disabled, yet it keeps going etc. none of these 20 scopes, attachments for each gun unlocked separately etc. etc.

Everything in BC 2 was pretty even and balanced from 2nd last patch onwards IMO (apart from the shottie), due to the simplicity :p

The game honestly feels like it has been released a year too early, and tbph I would have rather have waited a year for everything to be fixed/tweaked properly than releasing an unfinished game.

I think in some ways, DICE have really shot themselves in the foot now for future BF titles (well regarding the PC community anyway) as their communication with the community has been dreadful, kind of not answering the questions truthfully (e.g. "largest maps ever" however, they aren't because only aircraft can make use of the full area and the flags are all in the middle; "yes the antenna will be destructible", they knew fine well what we meant when we were asking them that question, as in could it be destroyed by C4, rockets etc.) especially since they brought the close quarters DLC into the equation and paying for unlocks now.

EDIT:

BF2142 was the same - each sniper rifle had the same scope, the assault rifles were fairly equal etc. and getting the unlocks was simple (and flexible!). BF3 seems to have followed the CoD unlock method of making everything almost completely linear.

Ill still own in tanks and helis np! Just have to adapt to it and I'm sure it won't take long! Atleast now I can take helis and jets out in one turret hit instead if 2 which I'm looking forward too!

If other team have loads of soflam javs np change to medic and get caps! Snipers never cap and Java engys just camp waiting for orange marker to appear! Win win situation!

But if you change to a medic/ground-troop....... it means you have to use a gun that fires tiny bullets instead of tank shells/rockets and you die pretty much instantly from anything easily then! :p :D

I play javelin engineer as I do assault - mostly running around capping. If I spot an orange marker or need to try and hurt a tank then I pull it out. Usually for a SOFLAM'd attack chopper tbh - easy kills in the javelin's current iteration.

I honestly dont see the issue with any of those things.

I enjoy being able to customize what scope i run with as opposed to having to use the one the gun comes with. It also enables you to choose what type of loadout you want, customizing the gun for automatic fire, burst fire long range, or for firing from the hip at ultra close range.

At the end of the day vehicles in BF2 still drove at 50 % health, this is no different. Only difference is now that if you take a vehicle to 50 % health you get 100 points for disabling it and it impares the vehicle so as to disable it from being able to chase you round etc..

I honestly don't see the unlock tree as all that complicated, once you get your head round the fact that unlocks are per gun and not global (which i think most of us got our head round within a day or two) then you're away.

- vars.roundLockdownCountdown can be used to control the pre-round timer

- The locked-in-place warm-up has been replaced by a warm-up where players can move around, shoot, and take objectives; scoring is disabled during warm-up

It's not complicated at all it's just f'ing annoying and COD-like for anyone who doesn't have 20hrs a week to spend on the game. Basically to be on any sort of level playing field with the regulars (regardless of skill level) a casual gamer has to stick to the same bloody weapon all the time to make it anywhere near useful.

You unlock an ACOG, u should be able to use it for all guns like in BC2, it's a universal attachment ffs. It really limits the types of guns that a I can use  And also means I basically have to choose one weapon in each class that I want to specialise in. By the time I get heavy barrel on anything BF4 will probably be out!

I do think in some aspects BF:BC2 is the better game, but that's some aspects, mainly the way you unlock things and of course, destruction.

I disagree. Although there are lots of attachments for all the weapons, none of them really make the guns better overall. They just make for more variety and weapon specialisation, and in some cases will make some aspects of the weapon worse as a tradeoff for the advantage they give. For instance, heavy barrel makes for a more accurate first shot, but makes for more recoil. Flash suppressor reduces recoil and accuracy. Laser sights make aiming from the hip easier, but give your position away easily.

As for scopes, they are again useful to have, but I think I use most of my weapons with iron sights. Im sure I saw somewhere that one of the devlopers said that their basic setups would actually be the best all round configurations.
