Define 'laser' guns.

I think you are underestimating the accuracy of single shot fire even in real life. The effective range of most assault rifles with a correctly configured iron sight or scope is significant.
That's exactly what I want, I want semi and short bursts to be the preferred way to use guns but as it is at the moment it's far to easy to use them on automatic and still hit your target.

The way it works now is the initial kick is felt for every single shot or burst but with auto you can counteract that and keep on firing, as it is automatic fire has too big of an effective range for assault weapons.
 
You can do that.

But conversely someone can also use an LMG designed for suppressive fire to mess that up.

It's an element of the game. I love it. It differentiates BF3 from CS/CoD etc where 'skill' matters and nothing else does. It's the realm of no-scopes and bunny hopping that is a waste of time.

BF3 is not an eSports super hardcore competitive title so EXPECT to be thwarted every now and then by a COMPLETE nab. The game is setup in that way.
 
Argh stop mentioning leet mlg hardcore esports!

That's also some of what I said before, LMGs should be the only weapons that suppress that way and even then they need to be designed in a way that means you can't just walk or jog along firing.
 
Wonder how long before dice get the finger out and fix aa missiles again, all im seeing in servers is jets and helis strutting around the maps without a care in the world, and any other ground based vehicles getting utterly decimated by them. You get the odd hit on jets and helis but its nothing more than random luck, 9/10 the missiles explode behind the target yet this wasnt caught in their supposed "testing".


They must have the most inept chimps on the planet testing these patches, assuming testing of any kind was done at all. :rolleyes:

They can't test the patches very well if people find these problems within an hour of l playing, I mean they didn't even test if you could MAV lift while prone.

It really is pathetic the amount of obvious things that "somehow" slip through. I really think they just sit altering values in a database, package that with the patch and thats it. Why bother with testing, clearly everything will work out fine. We'll be waiting weeks if not months for them to fix this, and during that time aircraft pilots will be having a field day. :mad:
 
BF3 is not pro stuff

Why stop at suppression then? why not actively modify players weapons to be better or worse depending on their overall K/D / score per min? better players have their guns actively nerfed? or am I play with fire here and nawbs would actually love that and it will be in next patch? :(
 
Hmm, if I get between 65 and 80 percent usage on both cards in SLI in BF3, is that normal / OK?
And has anyone else tested BF3 on Windows 8 CP? It runs ok here but looks like it's a bit more stuttery.
 
Hit reg seems way off for me since this patch.

Particularly noticeable with the sniper rifles.
Scoped in on people and fire no hit registered whatsoever...

Anybody else noticing similiar???
 
I got a solid 400 Metre Headshot last night with a M98B + suppressor (so less range, less speed) with a HUGE trajectory arc and a 2 second travel time.

So hit reg is either working okay or is WAY off and I missed by a country mile :D

In all serious though, hit reg at times seems a little funky but I am levelling up a new weapon so not such a solid test bed to comment.

hit reg fine for me! just been sniping a bit and seems fine also! only thing ****ing me of is i couldnt deploy mortar anywhere on bazaar was so annoying how the hell do u deploy the stupid mortar now lol
 
no **** sherlock! i dont drop my standards to that level never did pre patch! but i was at D helping mates cap C on bazaar but i couldn't deploy it ANYWHERE!
