no **** sherlock! i dont drop my standards to that level never did pre patch! but i was at D helping mates cap C on bazaar but i couldn't deploy it ANYWHERE!

hehe, just in case you weren't aware :D :p
Maybe you can't deploy it anywhere in a cap zone that belongs to your team then? Haven't used the mortars much since the patch but the odd time that I did (in the open, not in cap zones) it worked just fine so

The suppression is an excellent game mechanic, but I think they've exaggerated it too much since the patch. I disagree that it's a crutch for poor players; that's looking at it from the wrong perspective. It's simply a way of adding another element of immersion and a way of adding that 'fear of death' feeling that many games miss.

I have always quite liked playing the support class and laying down covering fire. But I don't do it because of the suppression assist....I do it because I know it will genuinely be encouraging the enemy to sit tight rather than fire back, so I kinda resent the accusation that I'm getting rewarded for missing my targets. I'm not; I'm deliberately using my weapon's characteristics as intended. Besides, nothing sounds meaner than an M60 on full chat :D

It does seem to be overdone with the new patch - the games sound engine is such that listening to the whip cracks of bullets passing close by and having the vision blur slightly was enough to make me think twice about breaking cover. I haven't seen any of the lowered accuracy that people are complaining about though - only perhaps slightly increased recoil.

Generally enjoying the new patch. The only thing which seems a bit difficult to get used to is just how powerful the chopper is now against the tanks (or the tanks have paper armour now). Apart from that, all good.

Does anyone like the new commo-rose?

Nope!

Looks a bit better now, but the core functions of it is still **** poor.

Pointless as you can't easily hear what people are saying with all the gun fire and explosions and then when you do, you don't have a clue who it is that is saying it unless you look at the mini map, but the majority of players don't.

Would love it, if it is also created a line in the chat box along with the location (if your in a flag area) as well, that is only displayed to your team, so if you request backup or ammo or whatever, then when choosing the appropriate it will show something like the below in the chat box as well:

Choose backup via commo rose:

[TEAM] NAME: Backup requested!

And if you're in a cap zone:

[TEAM] NAME: Backup requested at C!

Or something similar anyway.

Hmm, if I get between 65 and 80 percent usage on both cards in SLI in BF3, is that normal / OK?
And has anyone else tested BF3 on Windows 8 CP? It runs ok here but looks like it's a bit more stuttery.

Overclock your CPU.
Without overclock I get very fluctuating GPU usage. The 920 @ stock can not power 2 480s in SLI in this game. With my 920 running at 4Ghz my GPU usage is where it should be (95% - 100%)

Would like to know what people use now as well? And what unlocks to use for tanks (I know that smoke is essential now) and aircraft?

I have had to take the silencer of all my guns now :( Also what pistol does every one find the best?

Silencer is still the best for CQB like bazaar etc

i use bipods on all support guns and forgrip on assault heavy barrel for open maps silencer or flash suppressor for CQB

Here we go, let's see what happens. I'll try to edit this post with highlights.

Demize on suppression
- Suppression didn't really play a role in combat pre-patch
- Some users say suppression should be more effective
- Seems to think it's too much right now
- Playtested suppression 3 months prior to release (lolwat)
- Happy with the radius passing bullets suppress the player (I disagree)
- Wants to reduce the time between suppression and accuracy back to normal level
- Deviation unchanged, but you reach that level quicker than you did pre-patch

Demize seems to acknowledge it's too high, but after all that play-testing I don't understand why the change made it in the patch.

Demize on frequent PC patches
- Talks about keeping the experience the same
- Some other stuff that doesn't make sense
- Doesn't want patch releases platform specific

It sounded like he was avoiding the question. We still don't have a solid answer as to why they can't release frequent updates on PC. Main excuses seem to be favouritism, same experience on all platforms etc etc.

Demize on best part of the patch
- Attachment changes adds more depth

One thing you would want added if you had unlimited time?
- Battlerecorder
- In-house implementation un-usable by players
- Wanted by dev team
- DICE committed to releasing "quality" products

Demize on tanks
- RPG strength hasn't changed
- Lot's of changes "accidental knock-ons"
- "DLC reflects amount of support game will receive"
- According to his testing RPG's still do the same amount of damage they did before the patch (this misses the fact that tank now have to deal with a higher ttk in tank battles, improved jav effectiveness and low repair speed)

Kertz seems to think that announcing three DLC's is a good indicator of how much DICE intend to support the game. I disagree. We had to wait three months for this patch and not only did it mess up game balance, it introduced a bunch of bugs. You say you play test, but I find that very hard to believe.

Demize on update
- Very proud

They've ****ed up this game royally now. I cannot do what I enjoy doing due to the stupid suppression **** they've done.

Also, it seems my hit detection is 10x worse...
