We will publish an update to the BF3 PC game client on the morning of Friday April 27th.

The game client is compatible with the currently-live clients and servers.
There will not be any corresponding updates of game servers or central servers.
There will not be any downtime for Battlelog.

Since the patch is only code changes, it will be fairly small. I don't have the exact size in MB at hand, but expect it to be less than 100MB in size.

anyone know why BF3 is the only battlefield game without a weapon scroll menu??

Why would u use a weapon scroll menu? U should individually bind each weapon to a key for quick access! I use V for assault rifle, B for pistol, X for Med kit ammo pack slot RPG etc and C for defibs repair tool slot! Makes things 100x easier and faster then scrolling with mouse!

Yeah i have the right number keys as my weapons, attachments, med pack, paddles etc.

Because there isn't a scroll on xbox/ps3

why was it in BF2 then and BF 2142?

just wondering as to why that is one of the many features either toned down/completely removed as part of the evolution/innovation of the BF series.

This is something I keep meaning to do. Normally straight after I've died when trying to use the scroll wheel to select pistol but pulled out a knife instead (who brings a knife to a gunfight? Me!). Or even more amusing, I've sprinted out to defib someone but somehow manager to select grenades instead... run away!

dunno never played BF2 or 2142! its just something that dont think anyone would even bother with! its about as pointless as a chocolate teapot!

I use 1 for main weapon, 2 for secondary, I can only image scrolling through a mousewheel whilst trying to aim/avoid getting shot would be [/fail]

Because nobody used it and preferred to bind their keys to specific weapons.

I returned to the server apologizing to the admin but after 15 mins or so, it just felt like stat padding to me. Laying down tons of medkits, and reviving someone every second of the game.
