Play 8v8 or 5v5 or 4v4 squad rush then tell me this game doesn't require a lot of skill.....

8v8 is what makes BF awesome... and really looking forward to competitive scene in bf4

Also on public servers the skill barrier is so big... u usually have 3 4 decent players per team and the rest are just wasted polygons... don't think I've played a game where the 95% of the player base are so bad, it's mostly them that ruin games... vehicle stealing sniping in hills trolling in base etc etc... I know it's only public but common
 
True but that is in a different league compared to the public 32/48 etc. player servers! :p

Although again I can't say it requires the same level of skill as the likes of counter strike especially when you have the current suppression system :o (unless you play with that promod tweak that turns it of)

Yup no doubt about that! Tons of annoying noobs in public servers :(

the main thing that this game requires isn't so much individual skill but more so team work and organisation as that is what will make you lose or win the round i.e. as said before having a recon who manually controls the SOFLAM, spots etc. on rush when defending the first base on kharg island is vital to keeping that base and winning the round but it also comes down to having a handful using javs. and having people pay attention to the 3d triangles etc. :p

well in my case it's cos i have **** aim, and despite the number of hours played i haven't improved :(.

doesn't help when you have morons on the server telling you how **** you are, i'm trying my best to play the game to the best of my abilities cos i enjoy it, unfortunately you have too many "skilled" players with there head so far up there arse that they offer no useful advice on how to improve, guess the muppets were born "elite", lucky them ..........

tis true there is no comp scene for bf3 why is that hard to acknowledge? :confused:

there never has been just a few groups of decent people.

bf3 is decent its just a couple of things would have made it awesome. hopefully bf4 rectifies it but it still wont be a comp game regardless.
 
Thought I'd mention it here as it's game specific (rather than in the big 'user ID' thread).

If anyone wants to add a n00b for random server bumblings, I think I'm listed as MockingbirdUK on Origin/BF3.

Good or bad online gaming is full of ****'s

How well someone aims etc is just one part of the game. If you play for the flags/help the team you are better than most. The problem is finding yourself consistently in a squad where the squad leader is a sniper on the edge of the map doing **** all good.

Or even some of the smaller maps where I've lost count the number of times I've seen a flag taken where an entire squad is nearby, but so intent on sniping they don't even realise :confused:

thats why you need to play with a regular group of friends. preferably with voice comms
 
I dont actually know anyone online who plays BF3 or any other game ....so i just play with who is ever on a server i choose through battlelog



that sounds kinda sad lol
 
I've had one fellow gaming buddy from college who I've gamed with for years, but he moved away.

My "normal" mates don't even know I game that much, never really a topic of conversation, usually, booze, cars or women :p
 
Anyone else not able to join servers? Was fine half an hour ago. Servers seem to be emptying so I guess it's not just me?
