That must be because you're awesome :p

I meant the start menu shortcut which opens origin and goes straight to battlelog.

Anyhoo, after restarting in hope of better D/L speeds, it seems we're all good and it's working fine now. Go figure...

Nope... I have origin running all the time in background and have battlelog saved as fav in chrome... never had any problems doing it that way!

Yeah, that makes sense.
I just generally don't like having unnecessary stuff running in the background for some weird reason and hitting the menu shortcut usually works fine.

I'm still struggling a little with this game :(

I am 24 hours in now and on the whole I'm really enjoying it! Snipers drive me crazy though. I always seem to get stuck in a squad with 3 other numpties who just sit at the edges of the map firing randomly at anything that moves. I then have to go on a little trek just to get anywhere near the action. Not only that its a pain in the beehind not having a medic in your squad.

My K/D (Means nothing I know) is creeping up slowly, now at 1.13 and my W/L is up to 1.4. I have had a lot of problems with my internet the past few weeks so my quit % is 33! No fault of my own though :(

Next up is trying to master the choppers and jets. I have had a quick bash but being new to Keyboard and Mouse it is very challenging! I may use my Xbox controller for the time being, just for the vehicles.

If you get a squad of recons, the noly solutions I've found are:
1) Go support, and drop ammo crates on them, so you at least get some points.
2) Switch to a different squad.

I tried a couple of new modes last night.

Scavenger is stupid amounts of fun. (It's also just stupid, but that's fine by me).

Gun Master is also possibly the best idea for a 'casual' game mode I've ever found. First round finished 18th (having come in part way through), second round finished 8th. I WILL WIN ONE DAY. Definitely hooked on that one.

I moved from PS3 to PC and bought a 360 controller for this exact reason. Was a wasted purchase. Doesn't take long to get used to vehicles and air with a keyboard and mouse.

3 points. 3 ****** points. One of the closest games I've had on Kharg Island. Our team didn't want to know at the beginning then from a couple of hunderd points down we came back, into the lead and then..... the buggers got behind us!

I have to say I blame Optimus_Toaster. No reason, I just do :D

There are some aspects of a controller that make air vehicles a whole lot easier to control, primarily being able to constantly pitch back.

The common misconception about recons is they are all snipers. I probably have more kills with the shotguns on my recon than with any bolt action rifle. Lost count of the amount of times I've slipped past enemies set up a spawn and told people to join my squad then quickly taking a flag behind the other teams back.

Sure, we could all go assault M16+HB+Grip easymode but some of us prefer to use cunning and skill :p

This is the way Recon should be played.

As for vehicles I can't use any of them very well, so I just sit in a heli with my repair tool :D

Just make your own squad ;) Then you can kick people out if they aren't helping :) I sometimes just tell the people in my squad to play medic (and sort their ******* perks) and if they don't I just kick them from the squad until someone who does joins.

LOL wut, just bind pitch back to space bar like everyone else. Controllers / Joysticks helped in BF2 but are nothing but a hindrance in BF3.

I have to disagree with that, I can't fly a chopper with a mouse and keyboard, but for Jet I agree. In a chopper I am much MUCH better with dual analoge sticks :)

I don't know about "should".

It's certainly a good way in most circumstances. In others, long range spotting and sniping is a useful tool for the squad/team.

I think the problem that arises is that large numbers of long-range spotters/snipers are largely redundant, whereas several guys finding their way behind the enemy with shotguns and PDWs dropping TUGS and beacons is pretty much always useful.

Edit:

P.s. Guru - if I'm ever in your squad, sorry in advance because I've only unlocked one squad perk so far (sprint).

I'll be on quite late tonight if you wanna go littlebird trolling again, soo much fun and yes, you do repair like a boss :D

Gay statement is gay! I use Joysticks and I... yeah, I suck! Okay

I will take your advice and use it... and then claim it as my own on other forums.

Fair play tbh.

Oh and dayum I can't help but troll people who call cheats on obviously non cheaters. Followed a guy to a few servers last night where he calls hacks everytime he dies, safe to say he died a whole load more. Reported me to EA for hacking because I killed him with a defib o_0
