Battlefield 4 Recommended Requirements - 3GB Vram

I need a world war two version again. There is something about 1943 wake island and carbines and really gets me going :D

Cod2 rifle play coupled with a few tanks, i think i will play BF4 simply due to going 21:9 for apache's and cool things.I wish they were more moddable.

I found a game that uses more than 2gb of vram @1600p

RTW2

So I ran it on a Titan and got 32fps and 3.2gb of vram used

If I had run it on a 4gb GTX 680 I would have got about 17 or 18fps - Would there be any point ?
Sure...if people were using more realistic graphic setting for their cards, frame rate will rise to playable level, vram usage would be lowered as well, but then chances are it would still be well over 2GB, if you are currently on 3.2GB usage.

A number of times you said you'll probably have to turn AA down to 2x with 2GB VRAM at 1080p.

Yes he did.

I said once that maybe AA might have to be turned down to x2, because it might. You can't say for sure and neither can i. No harm suggesting you might. Its all well and good you both saying it won't. The evidence from the alpha benchmarks suggests its a possibility. However if you read what ive written throughout the thread then you'll see i suggest in my opinion 2gb is likely to be fine for 1080p, at least with x2 AA. Its higher resolutions where that limit will likely be exceeded.

4gb SLi, would be fine unless the 256 bus was also holding it back.

1 79 won't be enough, 2 of them probably fine as well.:)

Feature Highlights of The AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta Driver for Windows:

Rome Total War 2: Updated AMD CrossFire™ profile
improves CrossFire scaling up to 20% (at 2560x1600 with extreme settings)
resolves corruption issues seen while playing the game

Looks like AMD have a profile and scaling but the game issues need to be fixed first.

EDIT

Quick look around seems to indicate crossfire working ok for Tahiti 7xxx line of cards. Not so well on old cards such as 6xxx series. Think its a general problem with the game tbh, buggy is an understatement.

Really looking forward to this coming out. So much so that I've book the 2nd and the 3rd of November off!

In regards to the 2Gb issue thing... I can't see anyone running 1920 x 1080 or under needing more than 2Gb. Ok maybe we won't be about to Max out the settings but it'll be pretty damn close.

I'll see how my rig handles the Beta. Single 1920x1080 screen with 2x 680s. I'm not worrying at all.

A post by a dev on the ea site states that the 3gig vram is only needed for 4k.

What he says is quite contradicting though:
"Unless you run at 4K you wont need 3GB. That 3GB VRAM needed if you running 3 monitors 4k you might only need 2....People that running resolutions higher than 1080p/1200p also need more then 3gb vram If you currently playing at 1920x1080 so I am sure 2GB will be fine for you, dont worry"

What!? Wait so which is it? :D

Yeah, he did but think that was a typing mistake. "Unless you run at 4K you wont need 3GB" is what he put out there so I'll see that as what he is meant.
