Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

BF3 was awesome on my 360, loved it, I can only imagine how good it was on PC. I dont really want to step back from BF4 though, I have a lot of fun in TS thats the main thing for me
 
I've tried time and time again to get into BF4, had some very good games with Joe but there's still something missing that wants to make me play day after day. It will eventually get better but they need to be careful with listening to the community on balance issues, they did it with BF3 and it created OP weapons/vehicles then some of them got nerfed which left basically a couple of guns that everyone used.

I suppose it's not much different to BF4 atm though I see a lot of people using the same weapons.

Been playing BF3 since middle of December, even though it has it's issues, I much prefer it to BF4 (for the time being).
 
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy BF4 BUT......Infantry on BF3 is 200% more fun. cG-Rainbow and me went on an aftermath server earlier and ended up 123-8 and 83-6 with 22% accuracy as infantry only :'(

Oh and Rufus, I'd love 27 inch but not unless it's 120hz and LOL 23 incher for Battlescreen BF4 / Pornoscreen BF3....overkill much? :D
 
I love 1440p it's so much better than 1080p, I get more benefit from having it over 120hz (non gaming wise) and the 23" is my old monitor, used for work purposes and when gaming TS, procon etc. wasn't worth selling it.

I really didn't like bf 3, largely because of:

- terrible map design
- aircraft dominating
- suppression system, might as well have called it blurfield 3
- the awful dull lifeless blue filter on top
- DICE doing **** all and not listening to what we wanted, instead they wasted their time tweaking weapons etc. even when there was no point and at the end of it all, everyone played the same class and used the same weapon (M416 and M16............)
- cheaters (at least I ran into them a lot :()

Started playing it more in the recent months before bf 4 came out, really liked AM and CQ maps.
 
Hahaha I hadn't noticed either, he is one of the top infantry players in the UK, absolute beast. Maybe not as pro at spelling though :D

Nexus..bet you woulda loved it if playing with mates like BF4 ;)

120Hz has spoiled me... when I went to scan to play bf4 and practiced on a 60hz monitor i just threw the mouse back, stood up and went for a cig.....the fact that there was a retarded mouse lag of like half a second helped in my toys being throw from the pram xD bu I really do love how fluid the action feels on 120 opposed to 60hz :) #fanboi

also yea, second monitor can be anything, used to used a 11" (or something) rubbishy lcd tv as my second. just had windows media player with my bangin' tunes and TS on it. What's great was it was breaking so got it for free....and it also became my stress/rage release device.....till a few too many fists to the panel kinda borked it.... oh well... NEW MONITOR TIMMMEEEE :p hahaha


to be pretty honest... the bugs on the whole don't annoy me that much anymore. like in the big picture I'm running about having an awesome time, but ofc there are those few WTF moments that really grind my gears that could and should have been avoided had dice.ea done a better job. not saying it's acceptable....but..well...carry on regardless xD
 
hmm ok, well decided to test out the SMAW today instead of the SRAW. I like it :) I like it a lot. Obviously the perk is firing and hiding, can really **** tankers off running around a rock and firing lol. But one thing I hate, its reload time. Dear lord takes forever....Joe, any tips for a quicker reload on the SMAW?

SMAW noob, use the RPG. :D

harder to hit with, packs a bigger punch when it does.

I've not tried it with the launchers, but with the LMGs, you don't need to wait out the whole animation - once the ammo counter in the bottom right changes you can switch to another weapon (pistol for me usually) and back again. It probably doesn't gain you anything time-wise with the launchers, but means you can defend yourself again quicker and still have it ready loaded for when you next need it.

I dunno, RPG seemed rubbish when I tried it, mind you that was when I just started out playing infy and I was trying to learn the maps and such. How much different is RPG to SMAW with regards to damage? advantages etc

I get quite frustrated with the RPG, on closer up shots about 60% of the time I'm noticing just how badly vehicle hit boxes aren't quite in the same place as the vehicle is visually* :| when it all works its nice though (having it lined up so the vehicle is moving directly away or towards you helps both in working around that and in damage application though).


* Dunno quite what dice has managed to do but in some cases someone can start moving on their screen around 1500ms before you see that they have moved which means your targetted shot on a stationary vehicle is waaay off.
