Bayonetta

Just beat the chapter 4 boss on infinite climax difficulty, OMG its now proper hard, on hard mode i can beat that dragon without injury (i have got the £5m climax bracelet thingy tho) on this mode i used many, many lollies and still only just managed it. Not looking forward to the future bosses! Only 2 achievments to go though!!

Played!

Not sure I could do Infinite Climax tho..
How did you get 5m Halos????

easy halo farm method, go to second main boss (Ch7 i think) use the electric Durga on your hands and just spam Y use witch time as much as poss and use "gaze of dispair" to massivley multiply halo's and just get the highest combos you can, i get about 600k - 1.5M per go and only takes about 6-7 mins

Watching those Eurogamer "face off" vids I don't think I've seen another cross-platform game with such massive differences in quality between them. As a PS3 owner who would've been quite interested in this sort of game I'm really disappointed. :(

Dont go off the eurogamer face off vids. They're bull crap. Pick up the game and play it, If you'd not watched those videos you'd have not noticed half the nit picking they do. The difference between the versions is there, but its not enough to detract from enjoying either version

Lovefilm subscription is back up for the month, got this, Darksiders and Batman on the way!

Looks good, although a little erotic. Would hate to have the 360 in the living room!

This game actualy caused me to rage. In the prologue, on hard, when you're on the wing of the plane trying to get three torture attacks off. I just can't manage it ever, combined with the silly camera movement i just cursed at my screen incredibly violently and skipped the level.

Rest of the game so far on hard has been wonderful to play though. Unforgiving but also entertaining for mself. Can't wait to unlock next difficulty and start the pain all over again.

I found the plane very easy as i didn't use any torture attacks in the verse before then, managed to store up enough energy for two, used those then fought a little till i had the third charged. Just getting to the second 'big boss' in Hard, thoroughly enjoying it and am yet to use a lolly :p

I got to the Stay in air for 60 sec thing without realising i could equip other weapons haha. Ive got that sussed now and now im on 2 stupid train things. They whooped my ass first attempt so ill have to try again some other time :)

wicked game though, first time i turned it on i thought it was crap, but once i turned music off and skipped some of the pooey cutscenes i got well into it :)

So it looks like i'm the only one that loves the soundtrack? Suits the mood of the game perfectly imo.

I'm really struggling with one of the challenges; the one where you have to do 7 torture attacks before time runs out. Mega difficult for me D:

Just spend 2 1/2 hours on this...oww, my hands :(

Loving it, much better than DMC4. Sometimes I can be insanely on fire and get Gold/Plat/Pure Plat, other times I just miss dodges for no apparent reason and get my ass handed to me!

Good stuff. Got Darksiders on rental as well.

Ok, i'm finally stuck, Hard mode, the golden crab like dudes that you can't witch time against, lame! I don't wanna use lollys as i'm trying to save them for ultimate-crazy-go-nuts-climax.

I'm currently pounding my way through hard mode and on Chapter 11.
I'm loving the challenge. I miss the days when games handed your ass to you on a silver plate and smugly said "Not giving up are you, you loser, why not try again" :D

Almost rage quit whebn faced with 3 of those floating paddle ship beasties at the same time tho !!

In reply to Streeteh they way I beat those crab men is just to keep dodging and building magic up (easily done when one of them spins and is on fire) then just torture them a couple of times.

On the most part, theres a difference, but its made out to be chalk and cheese, where as its more like chalk and a slightly smaller piece of chalk

Really? It's not just Eurogamer saying this.

Unfortunately, most of the kind words I have for Bayonetta are reserved for the Xbox 360 version, as the PlayStation 3 version suffers from crippling performance issues. Load times are bad, even popping up when you're simply cycling through options on your inventory menus, but what really kills it is the way the game stutters and chops through the action, dropping frames and bogging down at an almost constant rate. In another, significantly less intense game, it's something I might be able to let slide. But Bayonetta's gameplay, and even its cinematics, put such a premium on speed and precision that the experience on the PlayStation 3 is thoroughly compromised. Let me be totally clear here: if you have the option between the two consoles, consider the PlayStation 3 version to be nonexistent. If the PS3 is your only option, well, proceed with significant caution, or hitch your hopes on the notion that Sega might, someday, release a patch to address these issues.

I don't want to get into any massive "which console is best" discussion, but all this PS3 hate seems REALLY exaggerated to me.

I have the PS3 version and I'll freely admit that the 360 version IS better, but the PS3 version is hardly the anti-christ that everybody makes it out to be.

Sure, the loading times are pants, and the speed of the menu is a bit of a joke, but I finished the game and there were no more than 3 places where I noticed slowdown/choppyness. So either I have some kind of superior PS3, or comments like "but what really kills it is the way the game stutters and chops through the action, dropping frames and bogging down at an almost constant rate" are just blatant lies.

That's just my 2 cents :)

Yeah I have to agree, I haven't got the game but have played a fair bit of the ps3 version. Some absolute crap being posted up tbh. It's a subtle difference but the 60fps 360 version is more responsive, and that just makes it feel a bit better. But other than that who really cares if loading takes a 1-2 secs longer and the menu is a bit laggy?

The 360 version suffers from slowdown too, less than the PS3 version mind, but neither is perfect. Tbh i prefer the PS3 pad for these sorts of games so i'm a little disappointed i bought into the 'PS3 version sucks' hype and bought the 360 version, there's so little in it.

Defeated the crab guy on my first go without any lollys this time, i guess i was having an off day. Just defeated the wind boss, had to use a large green lolly though :( (this is in hard)
