I know Im still in shock how theyve bundled it ;). Its like they dont care about F1 fans or something. Surely we should get a discount for being so dedicated :p

ps3ud0

i know it was done before badly but when you look at the nfl's gamepass offerings f1 looks a total shambles.

as for sky its just there to make money, if it goes fully sky (which it probably will do eventually) i can see it declining in the uk.

ok i was £2 off, £30.25 :P on that page you linked.

well acording to skys bundle calculator it comes to £10.25 a month for sports and hd !? not sure how that one works out though. as the sports package is £20 alone.

Is there much of a discount on bundling VM TV with Phone and BB?

Having TV, Phone and BB from Sky together looks to have saved me a whopping £2.50

F1 is possibly the only thing I watch on the BBC which makes paying my TV license "worth it" please don't take it away

+1 to that. if i lived on my own i would not have one if f1 went.

well just phoned them up for the hell of it and £30.25 is the cheapest excluding any half price offers.

guess il be missing half of the f1 then.

There's always Sky GO which you can steal from friends or family.

You can assign up to twenty devices, yes that's right, 20!

Just add 9 additional users in the Profile & Settings.

Sky GO on android got launched today too, support for the most popular models with more coming soon.

twenty? how many can watch at one time?

on my parents skyaccount im borrowing i can only have 2 devices but both can be inuse at the same time

What will F1 be like on SkyGo on the XBox? I'm able to get a Sky Go username and password, but wondered what the coverage would be like. The Sky account I'll get has got Sky Sports and the HD package, so I assume I should be able to watch F1 in HD?
Will my internet connection cope with HD coverage? My Broadband is from Orange and wont set the world on fire speedwise.

Thanks :)

Shimmy - how does that work? Is it like associating different MySky accounts with the same box and then each account can have 2 devices? I know I used to have my own account tied to my parents box that was seperate to their account. Didn't know SkyGo was 2 devices per account. Though it was per Sky subscription.

I think Sky Go is only streamed in SD, although it does look very good. I've certainly not seen anything in HD on there so far.

A word of warning though, I and others tend to find the quality of the stream drops when something popular is on, e.g. a Premiership football match on a Sunday afternoon (hint - when a lot of races will be on). This is due to saturation issues on the Sky feed, it continues to stream fine but the quality is scaled back to compensate.

I'm not sure if F1 will have the same amount of people watching via Sky Go, so it may hopefully remain unaffected or Sky may upgrade their streaming servers.

thanks for the reply Nismo.

That's quite dissapointing, I've been badgering my brother for his SkyGo credentials which I've now got and was looking forward to watching F1 in HD for the first time!

Looking into it, £32 a month isn't too steep to be able to watch F1 in true HD. I very much doubt I would make use of the rest of Sky's chanels in the HD/Entertainment pack but would defintiely use the record features, etc.

Are Sky offering any deal at the moment? Half price months, free installation/HD Box, etc?

Thanks.

Standard HD+ box and installation are free anyway.

Only current offer I know of is refer a friend so you both get £75 M&S vouchers (plus another £25 for yourself IIRC).

IMO if you're into F1 the Sky sub will be well worth it, there looks like there will be a ton of features and coverage, and Sky do a very good job of sports coverage. I don't really watch anything else apart from SSNHD and BBC stuff in HD, but at least the GF makes use of it :p

Seems like a decent enough deal really. Is there much worth in upgrading the standard Sky+ HD box?

Having never watched F1 in HD, I feel it could be well worth it. Sky have made a whole new channel as well, so I assume we can expect lots of re-runs of good races? Is there any other racing/motorsport I can watch on Sky? I wont be getting the Sky Sports package, just the standard Sky package + the HD package.

Any news on what will be happening on the launch day of the F1 channel?

Just to follow up on this I don't think you've got this right Shimmy.
On each Sky account you can have up to 9 secondary users who can login to My Sky for functions such as remote record and login to Sky Go. However these secondary accounts are effectively extensions of the main primary account, and that primary account can only register 2 devices on Sky Go at one time. These devices can be unregistered on the Sky Go website but I think only once a month (presumably to stop too much sharing of logins).

I've setup my brother and my parents on my account so they can watch the F1 on Sky Go, the only drawback is that means I can't use Sky Go on my phone as the two registered devices have been allocated.
