Wow whoever proofed that Murray article needs to be sacked

ps3ud0

Quite! Very shocking, I had to re-read about 4-5 sentences due to the mistakes.

I'm surprised Murray delivers it like that before it's published tbh, surely he must go over it, even just the once, to make sure it's readable :)

... Evidently not!

I doubt he wrote it.

To be fair to Sky, FOM and FTOC - I'll consider getting sky sports next year (on virgin anyway).

If they offer a promo it'll be a cert. They really need a sky sports motorsport channel. Buy up some rights (is nascar even on uk tv?) and make it worth buying.

my feelings on the matter are pretty strong, but not sure about licking dog poo lol. I wont be getting sky to watch it thats for sure.

found this quite intersting, early july channel 4 were indeed seemingly sniffing around the f1 rights, personally i'd rather they got it than sky. in the end bbc could have probably gotten it back when they eventually figure out what is and isnt actually important, if this deal is allowed to stick then sky will never let go of it, and essentially it'll be ruined. I laughed earlier tonight when watching some tv and was baraged by sky adverts, one of which is that they have freezed the price of sky for a year!, wow, they actually have the brass balls to advertise the fact that they are going to put the price up in a years time and you should be happy we arent doing it right now... and thats after announcing profits of 1billion, so its not even like they will actually need to raise the price in a years time..

so the customer gets even less for his / her money? (because you can bet your bottom dollar that the motorsport chanel would be an added extra rather than a bundle - apart from the most expensive packages)

I may not watch a lot of tennis, rugby - and boxing bores me to tears (even Kahn who Ive supported from afar since his debut in the Olympics) and would never pay for PPV, want as much varied content on the same channel to at least try and increase the value for money Im getting

I would love to see junior formulae , but I suspect nascar would be horrendously boring unless yur a fan of bumper cars for 200 laps :D

edit I read an article yesterday which ended with this line
With the expertise of a sister company in the area of communication surveillance, watch out for much more interesting team radio snippets
That made me laugh I have to admit ;)

.. It's nonsense that [the BBC] can't afford [F1], they've just chosen to spend money in other areas and played the 'we've got no money' card.
Are you kidding? Seriously, do you know just how foolish that comment is?

The licence fee has been frozen until 2017. I suspect that the cost of everything will increase in that time-frame. How would you react to not getting a wage increase for the next six years? Do you think that it might require any changes to your life-style?

I am very, very disappointed that the BBC are losing F1, I think that they have done a fantastic job with it since they got it back from ITV, particularly since they got rid of the hopeless Legard. I am very disappointed that it is going to BSkyB. However, I believe that the BBC are making tough decisions on the basis of what they believe the majority of licence fee payers want. Personally, I would be delighted if they dropped Top Gear, Eastenders, and their endless, mindless reality and talent spotting shows in order to retain F1 and to schedule more documentaries. I am just mature enough to believe that they know their audience better than I do.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the Government and their determination to shut down the pesky, left-wing BBC.

and they're still spending £15m on F1 every year till 2018. It's nonsense that they cant afford it, they've just chosen to spend money in other area's and played the 'we've got no money' card.

So, you're saying that because they can afford less than half the current cost, they can afford it all

They have a budget and F1 doesn't bring in enough viewers to justify the cost.

Sky will do an equally good, if not better job than the BBC.

And Sky is just for Chavs? Just LOL.

Of course it's good news for Sky and their shareholders

Is it though? If the mood here is anything to go by they won't be getting anywhere near the amount of extra subscribers it will take to cover the outlay, unless they are planning to make up the extra with sponsership.

Still they can take there billion profit and buy out virtually all sporting events and then people will be stuck.

I think once people have calmed down, Sky will definitely see a significant increase in their subscribers. I'll certainly be subscribing to the extra channels as there's no way I'm missing half of the races.

Just get yourself a nice 80cm dish with twin LNBs spaced 6 degrees apart and point it Astra and Hotbird satellites. You'll then pick up pretty much everything in Europe.

If you get access to Premier in germany, they broadcast films and sport etc.. in multiple languages.

Looks like BBC did a nice mail merge on sending the same response to everyone!

I always planned to get a Sky subscriptions, as I miss Motors TV and Eurosport. This has just put a deadline on getting it.

How does one go about getting Sky if they live in a rented ground floor flat?

We have a communal aerial, but not a dish as far as I can tell. I will have a look around the building tonight though, see if I can see one. Which way does a Sky dish point?
