BBC possibly to drop F1 coverage...

It will be itv coverage all over again. Tacky graphics, irritating presenters, weak analysis and a tabloid perspective on the "showbiz" F1.

Brundle often compains about how expensive his sons F2 career is so I'm certain he will be at Sky next year when they wave a big fat cheque in his direction.

I can almost guarantee that at a least some of those saying that now WILL buy Sky Sports.

Hello! :D

Actually, all this has done is turn my desire for Sky TV from a 'want' to a 'really want'.

I still feel I have the right to moan about it though as I doubt the program will be anywhere near as good on Sky, and the viewer figures will drop massively.

would it help is this lovely lady was presenting it?

Couple of rumours I have heard are that Tony Jardine will be the Sky anchor, likely studio based, and Sky have their eye on Martin Brundle, whose contact with the BBC (conveniently) runs out at the end of this year.

this to me is key

it depends who they get to do the coverage. I'm not paying for sky sports to watch sub par coverage.

I'd be more concerned about what the BBC coverage will be like if all the good people go to Sky?

alternatively sky may end up with none of the good people and BBC keep their existing crew to do the highlights program and 3 live GPs a year.

Sky could have the best F1 coverage ever if they just moved the BBC setup onto sky.

But i doubt it will work out that way. Need to wait and see how it pans out. Jake is key to the success of the current show, he's an excellent presenter. Martin bundle is key to the commentary imo.

If Sky go without either of those, good or not, it just won't be the same :/

Didn't they say they would use the same team anyway just different studio/anchors?

I'm sure I read the commentators would be shared on both channels?

So obvious that Brundle will be going to Sky. His "not happy" twitter comments were perhaps a little short sighted. I'm sure he's caught the scent of the big money by now though.

I've no doubt the Sky coverage will be first class. Perhaps even better than the BBC's. But even if it's 20% better than the BBC (if that amount of betterness is possible?), would you pay £50/mo for it? Wouldn't you rather continue receiving coverage that is 20% less good, for free? :p

I'd rather it be a bit worse and still be free tbh.

Whatever, if it is one SKY, i wont be watching it as i can't afford it and even if i could i wouldn't be lining thier pockets!
