Be wary of CDKeys

Well it should be an automated process to send the keys out. This seems more a case they were selling stock they didn't have. The issues seem to be getting progressively worse. I wonder if this is mostly for newer releases though??

I did a Google search and there is a Reddit post stating the same issue occurred with PUBG and to avoid purchasing from CDKeys as they couldn't keep up with the demand.

Well if they had been honest and said they had oversold the keys, then at least I might have been more understanding. Just ignoring people is not really a good way to do CS.LOL.

never had an issue used them for at least 3-4 years and ordered a few keys in the last couple of weeks and got them instantly so maybe isolated issues?

Been using them for years without a single problem.

This weekend alone I have made three individual purchases and received them all straight away so all seems to be OK as usual?

It isn't isolated and seems to be mostly with very recently released games. Look at posts 6 and 9 where I have posted screenshots of their Twitter account. Loads of unhappy people, some of which have waited days. They made this post a week ago:

Note: Due to a heavy influx of requests, we're expecting a response time of 24-48 hours to get back to you. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Occasionally, there may be a situation where order confirmation emails take longer than usual to arrive. Kindly check your spam/junk folder. If there's no email even after 30 minutes passed, please raise a support request here. For faster resolution, raise only 1 support request. Sending in more requests or replying more than once to your unanswered request, will push your request further back in the queue, causing a delayed response. Be assured that our Customer Care team will reply ASAP. We truly appreciate your patience.

Another one today:

We have been inundated with tickets with the releases in the last few days
Look at their Twitter replies:

https://twitter.com/cdkeyscom/with_replies

People have tried via social media to contact them. They have taken upto 4 days to reply even on social media.

So for well over a week they have not been sending on stuff people have bought.

It mirrors my own experience,it took nearly 4 days to force a refund.

That is terrible CS. When crap hits the fan,now you know they are useless. It seems they oversell keys for newer titles on pre-order,etc so there is a good chance you won't get it on time.

That means they are like a drop shipper - they sell keys they don't actually have at the time.

My case was even worse, since it was tied to a Beta, which was time limited and I missed some of the slots.

Edit!!

Plus, yes I used them on and off for years too,but never needed to use their CS. So never again unless its some older title.

Wouldn't say it's loads. Especially In the grand scheme of how many keys they send out. People with problems are more likely to report a problem than those who received their keys fine.

May have been expecting X number of keys for a new game and didn't get that many. Annoying yes but not enough that I would stop using the site. Ordered many keys from them new and old releases with no issues.

That is over a period of 10 days. They stopped replying on social media for over 4 days.

They said its a "massive influx" and "inundated",so that is their words not mine.

One of my other gaming mates also got stung too - I was telling him about this and he said he had problems too.

They any ignored queries for 3 days, until Paypal got involved - then within a FEW HOURS they refunded it.

I would hate to think what many here would say if OcUK sold something, never shipped it,ignored a CS request for 4 days, and then you needed to do a chargeback to get a refund.

You do realise the games which they could not supply were still being sold during that period on their website, right?? A period of 10 days.

So they not only are selling keys they don't have, but when there is a supply problem, they still sell them. They should have put "out of stock" then on their website.

I bought a few games off them before and "it was fine" too.

However, this is what their "CS" looks like - rubbish.

Never had an issue with them. But if I did find myself in the situation where I needed a refund, I wouldn't be holding my breath.

only once i never received a key from them but they sorted it out quite quick after i got in touch. this is basically my go to place for most of my purchases.

Well it seems for new releases they sell stock they actually don't have. A lot here defend them since they are cheap,so they would rather stick their head in the sand when there is a problem.

The worst thing is they were not sending out keys for certain games, then ignoring CS queries, whilst selling the affected games on their website. So they know they can't supply the keys to existing purchasers, but still sell them to new purchasers.

The moment Paypal got involved they knew they didn't have a leg to stand on,and refunded very quickly.

TBH,I was way too nice to them. Ordered the key a few weeks ago as a pre-order. I should have gotten the key last week, but I gave them a few extra days since I trusted them and the CDKeys fans said they had a perfect record. More fool me,I should have just immediately got on the case, and ignored all their fans.

Moral of the story,if they don't respond within 24 hours of a query(48 is being too nice in retrospect),just go to your payment provider. Its most likely they are being "inundated" again.

Ordered The Evil Within 2 last night and got the key straight away as usual. Never had a problem and this just looks like what they say it is, unusually high demand. Looking at some of them Twitter wingers, I'm guessing they have been spamming them with emails every hour and automatically putting themselves at the back of the que.

"I have waited 3 hours and no response, i'm thinking about raising through paypal now"
"2 hours and no reply, escalated it through paypal as I need an answer"
"I send many emails and submit request without advantage"

Might not have quoted them exactly, but its obvious to see that most of these are impatient console plebs that are spamming emails and have messed it up for everyone.

I've pre-ordered 8 games with them over the past 3 years without issue. I actually had a remarkably good experience using their customer service; I had Wolfenstein 2 on pre-order with them, then after also receiving a free key for it when I bought by RX Vega GPU, I sent them an email asking if I could cancel the order and have a refund as I no longer required the key. The money was back in my account 1 hour after sending the email!

From most of the comments i see on twitter it seems to mostly be fortnite and cod players only waiting about 48 minutes on average before spamming social media.

I must say this has put me off cdkeys for the time being until i hear better things starting to come through.

Same here never an issue, also when I have contacted customer service been great, wanted to change an order refunded in an hour so could re-order.

I also bought a new release from them which was black ops 4, got it with no issue

Contacted their support over the weekend because I bought a months Xbox game pass but the code they delivered only works for new customers.

Still haven't had a reply from them about it yet. There wasn't any mention of the code only being for new customers on their website.

Bought forza 7 from there over the weekend also & got the key no issues.

CD keys were very good when they first started out but have become very patchy over the last 12 months. Had a few delay problems but have always got the keys sent.
