Beerwulf - cheap online beer shop (well, for Belgian beers at least)

I posted a review on google which ended with 'Now they just need to stock my favourite beer, and it'll be the mariage parfait. :)' ...and the next time I looked at the site is was available, promptly ordered 24 bottles.

Wish I could find a sour that I could enjoy on the regular. I open a bottle for the novelty and am sick of it by the end. Maybe I just need to accept that I've got a bitter as hell palate :/

It's always best to order direct from Belgium because their beer duty is so much lower than ours and you don't get stung with the UK duty if you're buying in a non-commercial capacity. That said, this site seems exceptionally cheap! I will definitely be using for my next order.

Belgium strong ale is by far the best or the traditional styles imo.

Came across this thread a few weeks ago and it caught my eye. Went to northern france on holiday last week, and we did a day trip to Bruges. Have been to bruges once before and fell in love with the beer. Needless to say I was on the Belgian beers on the first day in france, with supermarkets doing very good prices on Leffe and Grimbergen - Leffe Tripel went down extremely well indeed. All the while I was wondering about prices compared to beerwulf, on the last day however in a Carrefour in France I found 3 for 2 on 6 packs of Leffe Tripel bottles, so 3 crates (6x25cl, so 450cl altogether) for EUR 9.58. Works out at 70 cents for 33cl (which is what most beers are listed in). Absolute bargain, kicking myself for only getting the 3 crates.

In the beer selling shops in bruges, prices were much higher than on beerwulf generally. Didn't go into anywhere supermarket. Favourite pub from last time De Garre was inexplicably shut, perhaps due to the amazingly hot weather and people not wanting to drink indoors. Gutted.

Now back in UK it's time to order a few more. Grimbergen tripel and Duvel tripel are definitely on the list as well as a Westmalle, can anyone recommend anything else?

I'd add these ones as well:

https://www.beerwulf.com/en-gb/p/rochefort-102/
https://www.beerwulf.com/en-gb/p/pauwel-kwak/

I would have said to add these but OOS at the moment:

Loads to try though, I have received my order today a lot of which I haven't had before. Apologies for the poor lighting! I did have a Rochefort 10 in the order but seems to have been missed off, contacted Beerwulf about it.

Carrefour in Dunkerque has masses of beers and wine without being stupid prices. A short drive up the coast from Calais.

Found a great belgian bar called Lowlander in Drury Lane , London. Been twice now and really enjoy trying different beers there.

Will definitely make on order on beerwf.

Lowlander is great, when you're around Soho also check out De Hems, its a Dutch beer bar but mostly sells Belgian beers.

Going to order some nice glasses to drink these out of. What are your favourites?

I am looking at getting these ones:

https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/chimay-glass
https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/bosteels-kwak-glass
https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/kasteel-glass
https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/westmalle-trappist-glass
https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/trappistes-rochefort-glass
https://www.beerhawk.co.uk/tripel-karmeliet-glass

I have a Delirium glass en-route as well already.

Think that'll keep me for a while.

Beer Hawk is far more expensive for the actual ales though than Beerwulf, but Beerwulf don't even sell the glasses. Those come to around £40 after shipping, but I have a few quid worth of Beerhawk credit and I also get 10% student discount with them, which makes them around £33-£34 all in.

can you not just steal these from your local?

Just ordered the Belgian pack, went to a bar called the draft house in old street when I was visiting a client. Had an awesome stout call big shed, only get it from Australia went back today to have a crafty pint after work and for hey sold out.

There’s a Belgian bar near London fields area called the dove which is good. Believe they also have one near clerkenwell as well.

I did my first order on sunday and just had an email that my orders delayed and they have swapped the Duvel Tripel Hop with the Piraat Triple Hop and i should have my beers tomorrow.

They added the St Bernadus Wit that I quite enjoy: https://www.beerwulf.com/en-gb/p/st2.-bernardus-wit/

Would recommend trying one to anyone else who is ordering.

Will be sure to add it to the list next time!

Had a few Hophouse 13's last night. As much as I love strong Belgian beer, I get sick of feeling half cut after just a few bottles xD

Tried my first Rochefort 10 on Saturday, really wasn't a fan. Maybe I'm just a bit blousy, but the taste of alcohol is so overpowering that it almost made me gag towards the end of the glass.

I think as with most things it's a matter of finding ones you enjoy, which is why I basically ordered 1 of everything! :D I probably won't order the Troubadour again personally, although the Cornet was decent I thought.

It's not technically a Belgian ale, but I really enjoyed the Paulaner both times I've had it. https://www.beerwulf.com/en-gb/p/paulaner-hefeweizen-naturtrub/ - may be worth adding one for anyone who is placing an order.

Would be cool if they did some kind of loyalty/points scheme like Beerhawk do.

Got an email from Mark at BW a few days ago stating that the inconsiderate swine at yodel have destroyed half my order :(

Apparently they've reboxed the unbroken ones and have shipped it on.

Great correspondence from BW though, been emailing me almost every day since then to see if I've taken collection of them. Offered to replace all the broken ones too, of course.
