at home, you?
What volts are you using?
Currently burning with 4.3GHz at 1.28v but CPUz seems to show up to 1.32?
1.34v

I just want to play it safe with voltage as my cooler is a budget one :p
Full load, temps are mid 70s which Im happy with atm.
I will probably crank it up when I get a better cooler :)

Yeah, it was a thread comparing the 4 bid daddies :D
I have a XL R2 which Fractal states to have a heatsink clearance of 170mm but according to most people, has a taller/bigger clearance than stated.

Oh another thing which still confuses me.
What causes Core#0 to be 10C cooler than Core#1 whilst the other 2 sits in between.
Everytime I see people's temps, they all seem to be pretty close/even.

I don't know what that could be,maybe a repaste? did you do the pea sized blob method?

pretty sure temps should all be even across the cores at idle

10c difference is pretty high aswell, you do get faulty cpu temp sensors but its rare on modern chips

Yeah, pea sized blob in the centre of the CPU then let the cooler do all the work with spreading via pressure.
One thing I remember though is that, when screwing the cooler on, one side could go much tighter than the other side, could this be the cause?

yeah it could be,i wouldn't worry if you getting a better cooler

you could try and screw it down evenly, and see if that helps

right now one side is applying more pressure than the other side

Like a fool I bought some tall Corsair Vengeance.
Do exactly what I did when I bought 16G of Vengance - remove the "heatsinks". They are certainly nowhere near efficient heatsinks - they are the the equivalent of the go-faster stripes boy racers used to adorn their cars with in the '80s....

Guys could someone help me :(
Every since I got my new cooler yesterday I have been messing with the bios settings.
now it just won't get past the gigabyte screen, I have tried removing the Cmos battery? but it doesn't do anything.
Did I just fry my motherboard and possibly my CPU?
:(

Edit: it's ok guys, I got it sorted phewww :D
