Is it just be or have they not talked about Hamiltons race on the red button yet?

You gotta love Lauda

"What did you think of the race?"

And then he gives us a description of the main events! :D

Have to give it vettel, that was stunning aim the guy really knows how to one shot kill a F1 car.

Straight for the rad and hydraulics no hesitation.

Totally forgot about the post-race forum, shame on me! >_>

Just what I thought at the time, if I tried that in F1 2010 I would be there all day trying :)

Because of the way he conducts himself afterwards and (usually) blames other people for things that were clearly his fault.

I think today is the first time he has admitted he just made a mistake and apologised for doing it.

So he is not liked because he doesnt admit to making a mistake. Then, even when he does, he still have 4 letter words directed towards him.

The guy cannot win.

Not sure what it is about Vettel, but I just absolutely hate him as a driver and a person.

Sure, his accident today probably wasn't intended, but I have to ask myself why is it always Vettel causing a problem? If he could just chill the f--- out on the track instead of going blitz on everyone cause he's so desperate for a win, then he might actually start winning things. (since he's actually a pretty decent driver)

Anyway, good to see Karma kicked his ass with a drive thru penalty and a later punctured tire. /rant

Bear in mind 90% of the comments on here were made before he had apologised.

Yup, it was nice to hear an apology. Still, the boy really needs to learn patience. When you think how much Hamilton has matured in such a short time. I have seen no such development from Vettel. Brundle was right, Vettel threw away the championship last year and he has this year too.

No, thanks to 5 Live commentary. I only switch back during updates from the football and realise why I changed again after listening for only one minute.

Racecraft wise vettel has always been very poor, if he could convert poles to wins it wouldn't matter but so many mistakes put him down the grid for whatever reason and it just highlights how bad the guy is when close to another car. People like to bring up silverstone as proof that he can overtake but I wouldn't be surprised if force india are still pulling bits of red bull out of sutils side pod.

The fact is that red bull have thrown away so much of this championship while they had a car that's hilariously faster then the others by using a pair of average drivers, but what makes vettel so unliked is his attitude towards problems he caused.

Webber crashed into hamilton and immediately apologised for it, vettel crashes into webber and throws a full blown tantrum.

How long can Red Bull just accept Vettel throwing away points (and potentially championships)?

I can understand that they see him as their long term prospect for multiple world titles, but from the evidence so far that just looks to be wrong. He needs to take the lessons on board and just calm down, but with the team apparently based around him and letting his indiscretions go he's never going to learn.

I'd make him number two for Webber for the remainder of this year, and make it clear that it was his actions that have caused the situation. Next year, he'll hopefully have taken the lesson on board.

Hamilton may go on to become one of the all-time greats, possibly breaking most of the records which MS set. To compare any (newish) driver to Hamilton, is a little unfair.

Vettel is "learning" his trade at the front of the grid. Hamilton also did this but, like I said, he is probably going to be one of the all time greats.

Remember, even MS, who IS THE all time great, had a few seasons where he learnt his trade, without being at the front of the grid. When he hit the front in a title winning car in 1994 (after joining F1 in 1991), he had learnt a lot, but was still rough around the edges. In 1995, he came of age and was the complete package. In effect, he needed about 3.5 years to master F1.

Vettel may not be as good as Hamilton or MS and thus, is likely to make more mistakes and learn at a slower rate, than those 2 drivers. To direct 4 letter words towards him, because he made a mistake, is unfair.
